Jewell Lake Campground

Campground ★4.0

1588-1644 W Trask Lake Rd, Barton City, MI 48705, USA

4.0
This state forest campground is very secluded in the middle of nowhere. Barton City is very nice and is really the only town in the area. All of the other little towns that are remotely close to Barton city are indeed very small just as Barton City (population of 548 people) is. With that said, Harrisville, which borders Lake Huron, is about 20 minutes away. The campground is very nice if you enjoy your privacy. The sites are very spacious. I went in the middle of July and the campground was like 1/10th full. It is a very quiet place, since the place does not fill up often.Jewel Lake is quite pretty as well. More often than not, it seems as if that you could probably have the lake to yourself. I would assume that locals do come here when the weather very hot. But generally speaking, the beach doesn't seem to fill up.Overall, this is a campground that not too many people know about and that may be for the better. - Albert Emery
