Irish Point Dispersed Campground Introduce
Welcome, fellow Idahoans, to an introduction to a true local treasure for outdoor enthusiasts: Irish Point Dispersed Campground. Nestled in the scenic beauty of the Boise National Forest, this campground offers a rustic and authentic camping experience, perfect for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life without venturing too far from the Boise area. Whether you're a seasoned camper or planning your first family outing, Irish Point provides a fantastic setting to connect with nature, enjoy recreational activities, and create lasting memories right here in our own backyard.
Unlike many highly developed recreational sites, Irish Point embraces a more natural, "dispersed" camping style. This means you'll find a more minimalist setup, allowing for a more immersive experience in the wilderness. The campground is a haven for those who appreciate the quiet rustle of pine trees and the starry Idaho nights. It's a place where the simple pleasures of a campfire, a good book, or a morning coffee with a view take center stage. This article aims to provide a comprehensive guide to what you can expect, helping you plan your visit with confidence and excitement. From its remote yet reachable location to its specific amenities, we'll cover everything you need to know to make your trip to Irish Point Dispersed Campground a resounding success. It's a spot that truly captures the spirit of Idaho's wild, untamed beauty.
Navigating to Irish Point Dispersed Campground requires a little bit of adventure, but the journey is well worth it. Situated on Forest Rd 268IP, the campground is located near Boise, making it a relatively accessible escape for residents of the Treasure Valley. It is essential to note that the final stretch of the drive involves traveling on bumpy dirt roads. While these roads add to the feeling of being truly out in nature, they also necessitate careful driving. A vehicle with higher clearance is recommended, though not strictly required, to comfortably handle the terrain. The scenic drive winds through beautiful landscapes, offering a preview of the tranquil setting that awaits you.
The remote location means that while you're close to the city, you're far enough away to feel completely disconnected. This balance of proximity and seclusion is one of the campground's most appealing features. GPS and mobile service may become spotty as you get closer, so it's always a good idea to download or print directions beforehand. Despite the rustic path, the destination is a peaceful haven that feels a world away from the daily grind. The address, Forest Rd 268IP, Boise, ID 83716, USA, can be used for navigation, but local users know that checking road conditions and having a good sense of direction are part of the journey. The drive itself is an enjoyable part of the experience, transitioning from paved city roads to a rustic, tree-lined path that sets the stage for a memorable camping trip.

July 28 · Thyrza LawrenceIt is a bit of a drive on bumpy dirt roads but worth the extra dive to be in some pine trees and shade.
July 05 · Jim Paulson (Boise Realtor)Arrive early & set up your campsite before the crowds arrive! Everyone was respectful of others’ sites but it does get crowded & busy for dispersed camping. Beautiful location & worth the longer drive to the end of the reservoir.
September 17 · Chelsea MertaNice, went in April so it was cold but the road was well maintained.
March 21 · Google ReviewerThe restrooms are atrocious. The flys simply make it not worth using. The campgrounds are quite nice. Tree's and close to the water which was absolutely perfect. It was lovely. And camping with no TV, no phone ECT was a godsend. I highly recommend going and enjoying the time spent there.
