Indian Meadows Campground Introduce
For those of us who call West Virginia home, there's nothing quite like escaping to a peaceful spot where the mountains meet the sky and the worries of daily life simply melt away. Indian Meadows Campground, nestled in the scenic landscapes of Fairview, offers just such a retreat. It's a place where the air is fresh, the views are expansive, and the sense of community among campers often makes it feel like a home away from home. Whether you're looking for a seasonal spot to settle your travel trailer or a tranquil overnight stop on your journey, Indian Meadows aims to provide a welcoming atmosphere rooted in the beauty of our Mountain State.
Many West Virginians appreciate a campground that feels genuine, where the focus is on the natural surroundings and the simple pleasures of outdoor living. Indian Meadows Campground, with its "Almost Heaven" setting, frequently receives praise for its breathtaking scenery and the friendly rapport among its campers and owners. Imagine waking up to the peaceful sounds of nature, surrounded by picturesque farms and the calls of blackbirds, truly immersed in the tranquility that only West Virginia can offer. It’s this kind of serene environment that makes Indian Meadows a compelling option for locals seeking a genuine escape and a chance to reconnect with the natural world around them. While experiences can vary, the potential for a peaceful and scenic stay is a significant draw for those familiar with the charm of rural West Virginia.
Indian Meadows Campground is situated at 77 Days Run Rd, Fairview, WV 26570, USA. This location places it within the beautiful, rolling hills of Marion County in North Central West Virginia. For residents across the state, this means a scenic drive that leads to a peaceful rural setting, offering a genuine escape from more populated areas.
Fairview itself is a small, charming community that embodies the quiet, laid-back atmosphere often sought by campers. While providing a secluded feel, the campground is still reasonably accessible from larger towns and cities in the region. For those traveling from Morgantown, Fairmont, or even further south from Charleston, the drive to Indian Meadows typically involves navigating well-maintained state and county roads. As a local, you'll appreciate that it's far enough off major interstates to feel truly remote, yet close enough to essential services. While cell phone reception can be spotty in some rural West Virginia areas, including potentially around the campground, this often contributes to the desired "unplugged" camping experience. For any immediate needs or supplies, a Walmart is noted to be about 15 minutes away, providing convenient access without disrupting the tranquility of the immediate campground area. This balance of seclusion and practical accessibility makes Indian Meadows a viable and attractive option for West Virginia locals seeking a rural retreat.
Based on typical campground offerings and the provided customer feedback, Indian Meadows Campground likely provides essential services geared towards comfortable camping, particularly for RVs and travel trailers looking for seasonal or longer stays. While specific, detailed public information on every amenity may vary, here's an overview of what you can generally expect:
- RV and Travel Trailer Sites: The campground clearly accommodates travel trailers and likely offers sites with necessary hookups for water and electricity. Given that many campers stay for "the season or longer," full hookups (water, electric, sewer) are a strong possibility for many sites.
- Seasonal and Long-Term Stays: A significant focus appears to be on seasonal or extended stays, suggesting amenities and pricing models tailored for campers who wish to settle in for several weeks or months.
- Transient/Overnight Sites: While popular for long-term stays, the campground also caters to those just passing through, offering sites for shorter visits.
- Restrooms: As with any campground, restroom facilities are expected to be available for all campers. While one review mentioned them not being very clean on a particular visit, this is a point for potential visitors to consider and verify.
- Community Atmosphere: Customer reviews highlight a friendly environment with "great camp neighbors" and "wonderful family owners," indicating a focus on fostering a welcoming community among campers.
- Basic Campground Amenities: Expect basic amenities such as picnic tables and fire rings at most sites to facilitate outdoor dining and campfires.
It is highly recommended for potential campers to call Indian Meadows Campground directly to confirm the exact hookup availability (e.g., 30/50 amp, water, sewer), the condition of facilities, and any other specific services they might require for their stay. This will ensure expectations are aligned with the campground's offerings.
- Breathtaking Scenic Location: Consistently praised for its "beautiful location" and "absolutely breathtaking, peaceful" scenery, Indian Meadows Campground offers stunning views of the surrounding West Virginia landscape, including rolling farms and natural vistas.
- Peaceful and Tranquil Atmosphere: The campground provides a quiet and serene environment, ideal for relaxation and escaping the noise of city life. The presence of blackbirds and rural sounds contributes to this peaceful ambiance.
- Friendly Community and Owners: Visitors often highlight the "great camp neighbors" and "wonderful family owners," indicating a welcoming and supportive community feel within the campground.
- Suitability for Seasonal Stays: The campground is clearly well-suited for long-term or seasonal campers, with travel trailers "tucked in for the season or longer," suggesting amenities and a vibe conducive to extended visits.
- Rural Setting: Surrounded by farms, it offers a genuine rural West Virginia experience, appealing to those who appreciate open spaces and agricultural landscapes.
- Accessibility to Local Conveniences: Despite its rural setting, a Walmart is noted to be approximately 15 minutes away, providing convenient access to essential supplies.
While some older feedback mentioned concerns about site closeness and maintenance, the recurring theme in positive reviews emphasizes the campground's unparalleled beauty and welcoming atmosphere, making it a potentially "Almost Heaven" destination for many.
For a family-owned campground like Indian Meadows, specific, publicly advertised "promotions" in the traditional sense (like percentage discounts or seasonal sales) may not be as prevalent or widely broadcast as with larger corporate campgrounds. However, the value for West Virginia locals often comes in other forms, such as:
- Long-Term/Seasonal Rates: Given that many campers appear to stay for "the season or longer," Indian Meadows likely offers competitive and attractive rates for extended stays. This is a significant "special offer" for those looking for a semi-permanent or recurring recreational spot without the commitment of property ownership.
- Repeat Customer Value: While not always explicitly advertised, family-owned businesses often value repeat customers. Loyal West Virginia campers might find themselves benefiting from a personal touch or priority booking for their preferred sites.
- Word-of-Mouth Value: Positive experiences from "great camp neighbors" suggest that the true value and "promotions" might be found in the overall positive atmosphere and community that develops, leading to a highly recommended experience among local circles.
- Flexible Booking (as noted by a past reviewer): While some prefer formal confirmations, the "casual booking" style mentioned by a past reviewer, while potentially leading to issues if not confirmed, could also be seen as a form of flexibility for some local campers who prefer a less rigid reservation process for impromptu trips. However, always ensure you receive a confirmation.
The best way for any West Virginia resident interested in promotions or special offers, especially for seasonal spots or group bookings, is to directly contact Indian Meadows Campground. Inquire about current rates, long-term stay options, and any specific benefits they might offer for a pleasant and extended stay.

Indian Meadows Campground Reviews
Almost Heaven, for sure! Beautiful location, great camp neighbors, wonderful family owners. We are in a travel trailer and are tucked in for the season or longer. Farms all around, blackbirds aplenty, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking, peaceful.
May 01, 2023 · Jo Lyn BurrisIf you are booking a site here, I would definitely recommend making them email you a confirmation. I booked over the phone about a week and a half before our stay. The owner was very casual about it and just took my name & number and confirmed the date and number of nights. I don't mind this kind of casual booking, we are road tripping across the country and I've had several campgrounds do this with no problems. However, when I showed up on the scheduled day, there was nobody working in the office. The other campers there were as nice and helpful as could be (in fact, they were so nice they made our whole day!). One of them offered to call the owner for me as I had no cell phone reception out there. The owner told me he had never spoken to me, didn't know what I was talking about or who I had spoken to. Said he was the only one running the place, so I couldn't have spoken to anyone else. I was irritated, but after having seen the campground I wasn't too disappointed to not be staying there (it was a dump). But when I got off the phone, I compared the phone # that the camper had called to my own phone record. It was the EXACT same # I had called to make a reservation. However, if you do get an actual reservation that the owner remembers, from my short time there I can say that it's in a BEAUTIFUL location. The campsites are insanely close together though, and it didn't seem to be well maintained. My kids went to use the restrooms while we were waiting and said that they were not very clean. And if you get there and the owner has no recollection of ever having spoken to you, then there is a nice wal-mart about 15 minutes away where you can stay for free like we did 😁
Jul 03, 2020 · Amy PolicarpioIf you want to listen to loud techno music until 5am this is the place for you. They have concerts there and let the bands play until very late at night. I would hate to see a family show up here to camp only to get blasted with techno all night.
Sep 28, 2023 · steve DavidsonThis place is a nightmare. It looks beautiful but loud inconsiderate neighbors make it an awful place to be. We left early and it was worth the lost money not to stay another day there.
Oct 08, 2023 · SarahVery cool property to camp, set rvs or trailers to relax, get away from town or see a festival, cookout...rolling hills, spread areas, sewage and elec hookups.
