Promotions or Special Offers
As a KOA Holiday campground, Huntington / Fox Fire KOA Holiday participates in various promotions and programs offered by Kampgrounds of America, providing excellent value for West Virginia residents and other travelers. While specific deals can change seasonally, here are common promotions and offers to consider:
KOA Rewards Program: This is the most significant ongoing offer. For an annual fee, KOA Rewards members receive 10% off the daily registration rate at all KOA campgrounds nationwide. Members also earn points towards discounts on future stays and receive exclusive offers and benefits, including a free night during the annual KOA Rewards Appreciation Weekend.
KOA Rewards Appreciation Weekend: KOA typically hosts an annual "KOA Rewards Appreciation Weekend" (often in September) where KOA Rewards members can camp on Friday night and get Saturday night free of charge. This is a highly popular promotion for loyal campers.
Themed Weekend Activities: While not direct discounts, the campground's extensive schedule of themed weekends often includes complimentary activities, crafts, and entertainment that add significant value to your stay, especially for families.
Seasonal Rates: Like most campgrounds, rates may vary by season. Visiting during the shoulder seasons (spring or fall outside of major holidays) might offer slightly lower prices and a quieter experience.
Early Check-in/Late Check-out Fees: It's important to be aware that KOA campgrounds, including Huntington / Fox Fire, may charge a fee for early check-in (e.g., $10-$25 depending on the time) if your site is available before the standard check-in time (usually 2 PM for RV/tent sites, 3 PM for cabins). Similarly, late check-out often incurs an hourly fee or is generally not available, so planning your departure is key.
Cancellation Policy: KOA has a specific cancellation policy. For RV & Tent Sites, generally, a 7-day notice is required to receive a refund less a $20 fee. For Lodging (cabins), a 14-day notice is often required. Cancellations made after these deadlines typically result in forfeiture of the full deposit. Holiday and special event periods may have stricter policies.
For the most current and specific promotions, it is always best to check the "Hot Deals" or "Events" sections on the Huntington / Fox Fire KOA Holiday page on the official KOA.com website or call the campground directly. Huntington / Fox Fire KOA Holiday Reviews
Tip for big rigs: the road the KOA is on requires a very sharp turn. It’s doable, but go slow and be prepared. The staff is amazing and friendly. The kids love how much there is to do — the swimming pond, playground, fishing, and more! The office store has your essentials and propane available for refill. My favorite part of the campground is Ruger, the sweetest old senior kitty (who loves belly rubs). 🥹
Jun 15, 2025 · Christina FrancyEvery year we look forward to camping, we do a grandmas trip to recoup from having the grandkids so much. Well this year the spot I reserved was gave to another person. My spot I had not picked out was much smaller and tight of a fit. My sister can’t walk very far and they stopped allowing you to drive over to the pond like we did in the past. Said people get stuck in the mud. I’ve never seen anyone stuck or even parked in the mud. They charge extra now to check in a little early if u arrive sooner than expected even if it’s like 20 minutes and that’s another $25 on top of the high price to camp on ur spot, with high grass and dirty areas. Staff is not enforcing the clean after your pets policy and we had to complain until they cleaned after a dog that we didn’t have. This used to be our favorite place to camp. This year young kids are running it and they aren’t doing a good job. I’d definitely try to find something else.
Jun 17, 2025 · cathy tackettStayed one night as part of a longer trip. Check in was quick and easy, guided to site and help with parking. Small swimming lake has boats and huge floats for kids to play. Kids loved it.
Jun 10, 2025 · Joe CanarecciWe stayed one night as we were traveling through with two 46' fifth wheel campers. And, we've never met a sweeter staff! So accommodating and helpful! :)The pull-thru sites aren't paved, but they're definitely big rig friendly. (If you have a tall rig, there are a few low hanging tree limbs on the service road leading to the park, but the park itself is beautifully accessible for large rige.)Thank you, Foxfire Koa! We appreciate you!
May 14, 2025 · Sandy BlytheThis place has a possibility of being a really nice place except no one’s done any work here in probably I’m gonna guess 10 years. The place is overgrown with weeds. Our little fire pit had 7 inches of muddy ash.Everything‘s old, bathrooms toilets don’t flush, shower house smells. Just totally nasty, don’t bother. I’d stay in a parking lot before I stayed at this place again! What a rip off!!
