This place is awesome and centrally located to most everything. Coos Bay is 8 minutes away and the open sand and water is just around the corner.Lots of campsites and some of them are really nicely situated. Bathroom and shower on site for both men and women and the camp host keeps it really clean. This is the ideal place for sand runners and big groups that want to camp together.Bring water resistant tents and or a camper or RV because mornings and evenings can get pretty damp with the coatsl mist. There are no water hookups but there are water locations throughout the campsites. The wind can come whipping through there pretty good so make sure you tie s*** down. 👍😲🤦 - Raechal Halter

As one reviewer enthusiastically put it, "This place is awesome and centrally located to most everything."

We, as Oregon locals, understand that coastal camping often means more than just a beach view; it means embracing the dynamic environment. Horsfall Campground perfectly caters to this, offering a direct gateway to miles of exhilarating sand dunes. But it’s not just for the thrill-seekers; its convenient location also provides easy access to the Pacific Ocean for beachcombing and the charming town of Coos Bay for amenities and local flavor. It’s equipped to handle not just individual campers but also large groups, making it ideal for family gatherings, club events, or simply camping with a big crew of friends who share a love for the outdoors and dune riding. The facilities, including showers and well-maintained restrooms, are a significant perk, ensuring a comfortable return after a day of adventuring in the sand. This thoughtful consideration for user needs truly elevates the camping experience here.

Location and Accessibility

Horsfall Campground is conveniently located in North Bend, OR 97459, USA, placing it directly within the captivating Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. This strategic location offers exceptional accessibility to both the vast sand dunes and the amenities of nearby towns.

For Oregon residents, the campground is easily reached via Highway 101. From North Bend, you would typically head north on Highway 101 for about 2 miles, then turn left onto Trans Pacific Lane, proceeding for 1.1 miles. A right turn onto Horsfall Beach Road for another 0.5 miles will bring you to the campground entrance. This direct access from a major highway makes it a simple journey for RVs and trailers, as confirmed by the paved parking spots within the campground itself.

One of its most significant accessibility features is its proximity to the dunes. This eliminates the need for long drives between your campsite and your recreation, which is a major convenience for OHV enthusiasts.

Beyond the dunes, Horsfall Campground boasts excellent proximity to the Oregon coast and the city of Coos Bay. As a reviewer noted, "Coos Bay is 8 minutes away and the open sand and water is just around the corner."
