★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great campground and hosts. Beautiful views however really noisy with sound traveling across reservoir. Party central at night with college kids doing campfires in parking lots and beach. Motorcycles love to drag race illegally at night which is an annoyance. Lovely place but overrun by too many Bozemanites.
September 07 · Kristen GierschAwesome hidden gem campground. Tons of good views and lake to kayak. Clean bathrooms but no showers and no plumbing unfortunately. Bear boxes are provided on site and staff was very helpful! Campsite 7 was great and highly recommend!
September 27 · Spencer WhiteVery professional and thoughtful area host (his wife is the location host). Quiet and clean, easy in/out and they provide firewood if you forget yours (small cost). Water access throughout many sites for paddleboarding etc. Day use area convenient for boating etc, with no fee for tables etc.Bugs are present (flys) so being a fly trap is helpful.Pricing as of review was $26 per night and availability was updated and posted at host site.Quick ride to day use area on other side of the lake pits you at a trailhead to many trails.
August 09 · ChristopherThe adjacent Hyalite Reservoir is spectacularly scenic. Bring your favorite watercraft or floaty, because you'll want to go out onto the water to explore, taking in the fantastic scenery. A number of formal and informal hiking trails - mostly across the reservoir or a short drive to the trailhead, and a surprise glorious mountain-meadow vista. Even without those activities, this is a special place to camp. Dog-friendly. Only downside is the current construction, diverting traffic through the campground and kicking up a lot of dust. Small potatoes, but the only thing keeping the campground experience from perfection.
August 13 · David AndoraSuper nice spots on the water, camp ground host was very nice to let us know a few reservations were no shows and there was space! Two vehicles at base $20 site cost. Quiet and with the usual USFS camping services. Road in is rough only for a mile. Two wheel drive cars are fine to get there.
