Holiday Acres Camping Resort Reviews
Me and my family just stayed last weekend may 30 to June 1. We have been coming here for almost 20 years and this will be the last time coming because of how we were treated by the workers. First we tried to get the spot we always get but we were told it was all booked up for that weekend, which would have been completely fine. But when we got there we noticed there was NO one there the whole weekend and we could not move to the empty spot we wanted. We were also treated horribly by the front desk lady. We had a couple friends come for a few hours and leave on Saturday and every single person said that the front desk lady was acting very rude to them. At around 9:30 she actually drove over to our site to yell at us and tell us everyone not spending the night needs to leave at 11. Which would have been understandable if she came to tell us with respect and a welcoming attitude like you should do in customer service. But she was just unpleasant and angry which honestly ruined our weekend. We woke up to an extra charge because we had too many people, which is just ridiculous considering those "extra people" were not spending the night and were visitors. Place is great besides the workers and we will not be coming back unless that changes.
Jun 03, 2025 · Hannah HalversonWe had a great camping there, didn’t try the pool though due to cold weather. Kids had plenty of space to play at the playgrounds as well as they spent a lot of time on bikes. Fishing was great by the way.The bathrooms are just refreshed, but the quality of water is horrible, the smell is just so bad that you doubt should you take a shower or skip. Leaving 4 starts only because staff promised to change the filtering system for the water, hopefully it’s true.
Jun 02, 2025 · Iryna AndrusivCustomer service is a crucial part in owning a business and the amount of reviews that my family and I can now relate to is crazy. This place losing so many long time visitors speaks to the fact that this place is not what it used to be. Just because you clean the pool now and paint the bathrooms does not mean you have added anything to this campground. My family has been coming here for years consistently giving our business and sadly we will not return after our last stay. Gene the woman in the shop was hostile from the second we walked in to register and everyone in our party had the same experience with her through the weekend. If you want to run a small family campground then you should probably learn to treat everyone with respect because thats how you grow and support a business. All we wanted was to have a nice weekend with family and friends but we ended leaving feeling harassed and disappointed to leave behind our family camping spot forever. On top of this we asked for 2 specific sites for which we were told were booked up however the whole island was vacant our entire stay. It was very strange thing to lie about….
Jun 03, 2025 · Megan HalversonJean, the front desk woman, was shockingly rude and hostile to every single friend and family member who checked in. Not one person had a decent interaction with her — in fact, everyone said she was downright unpleasant. Her attitude was consistently aggressive, as if she resented having to speak to guests at all. It’s honestly baffling how someone so bitter and confrontational is allowed to represent the camp site. After over 20 years of coming here with my family, I’m disgusted to say this will be our last visit. The experience was completely ruined. This is an embarrassment for the establishment
