Highway to Haven Family Campground is located at 800 Robbins Rd, Grand Haven, MI 49417, USA. This address places it within the highly popular and scenic city of Grand Haven, a quintessential West Michigan vacation destination. Its strategic position offers campers both ease of access and convenient proximity to a wealth of local attractions.
One of the most notable aspects of the campground's location is its immediate vicinity to US-31. Reviews confirm that it is "close to US31 and highway traffic can be heard" or "right off highway 31." While this means that "highway traffic can be tuned out like white noise" for some, it is a consistent factor to consider for those seeking absolute silence. However, this direct highway access is also a significant advantage, simplifying arrival and departure for RVs and trailers and connecting campers effortlessly to the broader West Michigan road network.
Despite the highway proximity, the campground's accessibility to Grand Haven's primary attractions is a major draw. It is described as being "less than 2 miles from beautiful Lake Michigan, Grand Haven Beach, and vibrant Downtown." This means that campers are just a short drive away from iconic Grand Haven experiences, including:
- The stunning Grand Haven State Park beach, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying the Lake Michigan shoreline.
- The picturesque Grand Haven pier and lighthouses, ideal for strolls and sunset viewing.
- The famous Grand Haven Musical Fountain, offering nightly synchronized water and light shows.
- Downtown Grand Haven, with its charming shops, diverse dining options, and a lively atmosphere. Reviews confirm the convenience, noting "Very convenient to downtown and the city beach" and "You can go into town which has very cute stores and beach, pier and boardwalk."
An interesting logistical detail mentioned in older reviews is driving "through a car dealership to get into" the campground. While this might seem unusual, it indicates the campground's integration within the developed area of Grand Haven, further underscoring its urban-adjacent convenience rather than a secluded wilderness setting. For Michigan residents looking to spend their time exploring Grand Haven and its surroundings, Highway to Haven's accessible location is a definite asset.

Highway to Haven Family Campground Reviews
I moved in for a seasonal stay. The owner Peter is very friendly. The camp sites are spaced pretty well. There grounds are kept up nicely including a nice sand volleyball court. I discussed the negative review about the speed limit with the owner and am it sounds like the person that left the review does not know what it is like to have children and drive safely through residential areas. I am happy he is watching out for his guests.
May 30, 2025 · Trent MillsAlthough close to US31 and highway traffic can be heard, the facilities are clean and the park is well run. The traffic noise can be tuned out like white noise. Plenty of trees and green spaces. This was our second time here and plan to return.
May 24, 2025 · Valerie PetreI typically travel 20 weeks out of the year for my business, BBK Leather Designs, so I've seen a lot of campgrounds. Highway to Haven is a well-kept park with an owner namedPete, the owner, does an amazing job with customer service, ground up keep, maintenance of all the buildings etc. and he is always available by text! They have a dog area, shuffleboard, horseshoes, cornhole and a Little community building, and there's a basketball court too!The sites are nice sized as well as gravel and grassy areas. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. They are also level and lined with trees that don't get in the way when you're trying to back up. They also offer RV and tent camping!I typically use a sound machine to sleep at night so any other road noise or train noise that may happen, I don't notice. It is so close to downtown Grand Haven you can almost walk! ~2 milesWe're here for the Grand Haven Art Festival and will definitely be back to stay here next year!Thank you Pete and Ashley for a wonderful stay and fantastic customer service.🏕️🚙🚣🏻♀️💗
Jun 27, 2025 · Brigit KowalczykWe loved our stay here for Memorial Weekend! There are several seasonal campers that stay for the full season, so it felt homey. We stayed for 2 nights and went to the beach and nearby parks for hiking. There’s a Meijer and Walmart 0.2 miles away with everything you need.Pros:Great, friendly staff! Steve lives on-site, so is always available for firewood or help.Cleanest bathrooms I’ve seen at a campsite! Cleaned daily.Pickleball, basketball, and dog park were great extra amenities.Great tree coverage (on our spots, 54 and 53).Every spot has water, electric hookup, a fire pit, and a picnic table!Very dog and kid friendly.Cons:We were in the middle of the campground and the highway was very loud. We could hear revving and honking throughout the night.
May 26, 2024 · Rachel WeberWorst campground I’ve been too, highway is very loud and it doesn’t even feel like you’re in nature. You have to drive through the Chevy dealership to get into the campground. Owner screamed at two 16 year old girls for going 7mph and threatened to charge them with trespassing for not taking him seriously.
