While it offers a unique set of features that appeal to many, it's also important for local users to be aware of certain practical aspects and operational nuances as reported by early visitors.
Lyons, Georgia, nestled in the southeastern part of the state, provides a peaceful backdrop for Hidden Forest RV Club. This area is known for its rural charm and proximity to natural attractions and local festivals, making it an appealing destination for those seeking a break from urban life. We understand that our fellow Georgians look for campgrounds that offer both relaxation and value. This article will provide a factual and engaging overview of Hidden Forest RV Club, detailing its location, stated services, unique features, and important considerations based on initial customer experiences. It aims to help you decide if this "hidden gem" is the right fit for your next Georgia adventure.
Hidden Forest RV Club is situated at 760 Robert Poole Rd, Lyons, GA 30436, USA. This location places it in a quiet, country community within Lyons, Georgia, which is part of Toombs County. Lyons is strategically positioned to offer a balance of rural tranquility and convenient access to several regional towns and attractions.
For Georgians, the accessibility to Hidden Forest RV Club is relatively straightforward. It is a quick drive from US Highway 1, a significant north-south route through Georgia, making it an easy stop for those traversing the state. The campground is approximately 15-20 minutes from the towns of Lyons and Vidalia, the latter being famous for its sweet onions. Other nearby towns include Reidsville, Baxley, and Hazlehurst, offering access to various local amenities, dining, and shopping. The area is also close to State Parks and Wildlife Management Areas, as well as the Ohoopee River (10 minutes) and Altamaha River (15 minutes), providing opportunities for boating, kayaking, and fishing.
However, it is important to note that the road leading into the campground, Robert Poole Road, is reportedly "unpaved," which some new RVers found initially "nervous." While this can add to the "country living" feel, it's a practical consideration for vehicle types and driver comfort, especially during inclement weather. Despite this, the park's overall location provides a peaceful base for exploring the unique charms of rural Georgia, including annual festivals like the Vidalia Onion Festival.
Hidden Forest RV Club provides essential services designed to accommodate RVers, with a focus on providing core hookups and a few unique amenities.
Full Hookup RV Sites: The campground offers 34 full hookup sites, which include 20, 30, and 50 amp electrical connections, water, and sewer. These sites are pull-through, making them easy to access, and are generally spacious, with some capable of accommodating RVs up to 50 feet long. Each site includes a fire ring.
Wi-Fi Access: Wi-Fi is available at the clubhouse, allowing guests to stay connected. (Note: One older review mentioned Wi-Fi at the clubhouse, but it's not explicitly stated if it's available at all sites.)
Pet-Friendly: Pets are welcome at the campground, though they must be kept on a leash.
Harvest Host Location: Hidden Forest RV Club operates as a Harvest Host location. This means members of the Harvest Hosts program can often stay for free for one night (or potentially more if the host allows and charges a fee) in exchange for supporting the host's business, in this case, by experiencing the unique farm and animal attractions.
On-Site Purchases: The camp store sells ice and firewood. Propane is not mentioned in available information.
Limited Facilities (Past Information): Older reviews from when the park first opened in January 2022 indicated "No restrooms, showers, or laundry; will be added soon." More recent information indicates that the FAQ for Hidden Forest Lake (which appears to be a separate, but related, development by the same owners) mentions a community/activity center with an outdoor entertainment patio with cooking facilities, and also picnic pavilions. It is not explicitly clear if these amenities apply to Hidden Forest RV Club, so it is advisable to confirm current facilities directly with the campground.
Hidden Forest RV Club offers several unique and appealing features, although some practical aspects warrant consideration based on customer feedback.
Petting Zoo/Animal Attraction: A major highlight is the on-site petting zoo, which includes goats, alpacas, a donkey, and a paint horse. Guests have the opportunity to feed and pet the animals, which is a significant draw, especially for families with children. This unique feature sets it apart from many traditional RV parks.
Friendly Owners/Management: Several reviews consistently praise the owners, Trish and Tommy, as "extremely welcoming," "super nice," and "friendly." This personal touch greatly enhances the guest experience, with owners often guiding RVers upon arrival and even involving them in animal feeding.
Peaceful and Secluded Environment: Situated on 48 acres with walking trails through beautiful wooded areas, the campground offers a "quiet" and "secluded" setting, perfect for nature enthusiasts and those seeking tranquility. Wildlife sightings like deer are possible.
Spacious Pull-Through Sites: The RV sites are described as "large" and "pull-thru with lots of space between sites," providing ample room and easy maneuverability for various RV sizes.
Harvest Host Partnership: As a Harvest Host location, it provides a unique opportunity for Harvest Host members to experience the farm and amenities, often for a free overnight stay in exchange for supporting the host's business.
Unpaved Roads (Consideration): A significant point of feedback highlights that the internal roads are "not paved" and contain "very large pot holes," which could make some guests "nervous" or cause discomfort for vehicles. While some recent reviews suggest improvements in drivability, this remains a factor to consider.
Refund Policy Concern: One review raised a serious concern about the refund policy for monthly stays. A guest claimed they were charged $600 for only three nights with no refund provided after an emergency departure, leading to a perception of "sketchy" practices and a lack of "common decency." This highlights the critical importance of understanding and clarifying refund policies for longer stays directly with management before booking.
Limited Amenities (Initial Phase): While the park is relatively new (opened January 2022), initial reviews mentioned a lack of restrooms, showers, or laundry facilities, with promises of them being added soon. Prospective guests should verify the current availability of these core amenities.

For Georgians seeking a distinctive and laid-back RV camping experience, Hidden Forest RV Club in Lyons offers a compelling option that blends rural charm with unique attractions. Its relatively secluded location on Robert Poole Road provides a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle, allowing campers to truly unwind amidst nature. The proximity to Lyons, Vidalia, and other regional towns ensures that essential supplies and local attractions are within a reasonable drive.
The campground's suitability for locals stems from several key features. The presence of a delightful petting zoo, where you can interact with animals like alpacas and goats, provides a memorable and family-friendly activity that sets it apart from more traditional campgrounds. The consistent praise for the welcoming and helpful owners, Trish and Tommy, fosters a warm and personal atmosphere, making guests feel right at home from the moment they arrive. Furthermore, the spacious pull-through sites and beautiful wooded walking trails contribute to a comfortable and engaging outdoor experience.
However, it is crucial for local users to be aware of the reported challenges, particularly the unpaved and pothole-ridden entrance road, which requires careful navigation. More importantly, the severe negative feedback regarding the refund policy for longer stays highlights the absolute necessity of clarifying all financial terms and cancellation policies in writing before making any extended reservations. While the unique features and friendly ownership offer a truly charming experience, prospective guests should weigh these against the practical considerations and ensure they are comfortable with the park's operational policies. For those seeking a quiet, animal-friendly, and hospitable spot with a rustic feel, Hidden Forest RV Club could indeed be a refreshing choice for your next Georgia camping adventure, especially for shorter stays or if clarity on refund policies is established beforehand.

Hidden Forest RV Club Reviews
This was our maiden voyage and our first stop at a Harvest Host location. The owners were extremely welcoming and guided our entrance. The road isn’t paved which made us nervous mainly because we are newbies. The next day they even gathered the animals and allowed us to pet them. I would highly recommend this new spot. We were their first motor home and it went pretty good. The kids said this is a great start to our trip. Thank you Trish and Tommy.
Feb 05, 2022 · ashlie sinclairMy husband rented a spot for a month 600 dollars, he had an emergency and had to leave after 3 nights. So he messaged Trish and asked if he could get some of his money back a refund minus a week which is fair even though he was only there a very short time, No response at all!!! She literally charged him 600 dollars for 3 nights!!! Never again. You know common decency goes a long way. And I'm sure she has already rented it again for another 600 dollars. Be careful there pretty sketchy there. There are definitely other places to stay. And if you notice she doesn't comment on the reviews that are calling her out
Apr 20, 2025 · Alicia HigginsWe were only one of 4 there but the spaces are large so you wouldn’t be on top of each other even if it was full. All spots are pull through. The trails were great for walking the dogs and the owners were so nice and even gave us eggs from their chickens. It was so peaceful and at night you can see the stars because there is no light pollution. l wish we had stayed more than two nights.
Oct 24, 2022 · Vi RiesSpent two weeks with incredible hosts, Tommy and Trish. Could not have asked for better hosts who became dear friends. They did everything possible to make sure our stay was outstanding, and it was! Excellent utilities, easy parking, room to roam, animals and wildlife galore. I strongly urge you to give this park a try. You will love it.
