Hickory Creek COE Campground Introduce
Welcome to Hickory Creek COE Campground, a wonderful retreat that offers the best of both worlds: the peaceful tranquility of the country and the convenient proximity to the city. Located in Hickory Creek, Texas, our campground provides a serene escape for families, solo travelers, and outdoor enthusiasts. As part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) parks, we are known for our commitment to maintenance and providing a well-managed camping experience. We believe in creating a welcoming environment where you can relax, recharge, and reconnect with nature without having to travel far from home.
Texas is a state of vast and varied landscapes, and our location on the water offers a beautiful contrast to the nearby urban areas. At Hickory Creek COE Campground, you will find a sense of peace and quiet that feels miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The sites are well laid out and separated from each other, ensuring privacy and a secluded feel. This design allows you to enjoy your own space while still being part of a friendly camping community. The abundant shade from the trees provides a welcome reprieve from the Texas sun, making for a comfortable stay even during the warmer months.
We understand that every camper has different needs, and our campground is equipped to accommodate a variety of preferences. Whether you are in a large RV with full hookups or prefer to pitch a tent, we have a site for you. The electric hookups are a newer addition, providing reliable power for your stay. We are also committed to accessibility, with wheelchair accessible entrances, parking lots, and restrooms, ensuring that all our guests can have a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
For families, Hickory Creek COE Campground is a fantastic choice. We are known for being good for kids, with plenty of open space for them to play and explore. The kid-friendly hikes offer a great way for little ones to discover the outdoors in a safe and manageable way. Our love for animals is also reflected in our pet policy, as dogs are allowed to join in on the adventure.
While we consistently maintain our grounds, we are always working to improve the experience for our guests. We are aware of the feedback regarding the bathrooms and are continuously working to address these areas to ensure a consistently high standard of cleanliness. We also take note of comments about the site layouts, recognizing that some of our sites are short and sharply sloped. This is a point of consideration for some campers, but with a wide variety of sites, you can often find one that perfectly suits your vehicle.
Hickory Creek COE Campground is more than just a place to stay; it is a community of outdoor lovers. The opportunity to be right on the water is a highlight for many of our guests, who can launch their kayaks or simply enjoy the calming views. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Just got back from a stay at #83. Great park, site, ACOE keep up with the maintenance. Bathrooms may need a little work but plenty of shade and quiet times so close to the city
April 13 · Jody ChavisHickory Creek COE is a wonderful campground. The sites are well laid out and separated from each other and the electric hookups seem to be pretty new. It’s close to the city buy it feels like it’s in the country. Many of the sites are on the water, so if you have a kayak you can put in right there. My only comment (not really a complaint) is that some of the sites are short and sharply sloped.
April 16 · Tina HawleyWe love this campsite. Each site is beautiful! It is peaceful and they have great bathrooms and full hookups!
April 08 · Jessi PettitI have stayed here atlast a dozen times. Never once have I hated the experience. It's a nice place for a starter getting to use to camping, McDonald's and Walmart are a 5 minute drive from this place if you can't do the whole outside experience.
October 15 · Robert MoodyThe facilities are good and there are lots of large grass lands. However, it is very noise since planes to and from DFW pass frequently, even in the evening after 10 pm.
