Hardy Lake Wooster Campground is distinct from its modern counterpart, Shale Bluff Campground, also within Hardy Lake State Park. Wooster Campground is specifically designated as a primitive camping area, meaning it caters to campers who are self-sufficient and prefer fewer amenities for a more authentic outdoor adventure. This makes it an ideal spot for tent campers, or RVers with smaller rigs (up to 45 feet) who don't require electric hookups at their site. Despite its primitive nature, each site is equipped with essential features like a picnic table and a fire pit with an adjustable grill, ensuring comfortable basic needs are met.
The allure of Wooster Campground lies in its direct connection to Hardy Lake itself. Imagine waking up to a lakeside view, with easy access for fishing or launching a kayak. While not every site is directly on the water, many offer close proximity and excellent views, providing that quintessential lake camping experience. The campground is well-integrated into the state park's broader offerings, meaning campers have access to the wealth of activities and natural wonders that Hardy Lake State Park provides, from extensive hiking trails to ample fishing and boating opportunities on the lake. It's a place where the focus is on natural recreation and peaceful enjoyment of the outdoors.

Hardy Lake Wooster Campground Reviews
We stayed at camp site 151. I wouldn't recommend this particular spot, as it is the nearest to the bathrooms. It also has the most uneven ground. Each spot has a picnic table, fire pit with adjustable grill and parking spots. I would recommend spot 155, it is right on the lake. 154, 156, 157 ,158 and 159 are also great spots.
