Based on available information and customer reviews, Harbor Landing Campground provides a foundational set of services, with a clear indication of ongoing upgrades. It's important for potential campers to note the current state while also acknowledging the owners' efforts to improve:
- RV and Camper Sites: The campground offers sites suitable for RVs and campers, as evidenced by a review mentioning a Fifth Wheel. Each site is licensed for city water and includes 50/30/20 amp electric hookups, installed about eight years ago, with each lot metered separately.
- River Access: Being "on the river" provides direct access for water activities, though specific details on boat docks or ramps are limited beyond the general riverfront location.
- WiFi Connectivity: Upgraded high-speed WiFi is available throughout the park, though one older review noted it was "less than desirable," suggesting improvements have been made or are continuously being worked on. Sites are also wired for cable.
- Storage Options: Some sites include a 48-foot high cube container for secure storage, which is a unique and practical amenity for seasonal campers.
- Community Areas: There is a covered pavilion with a new roof and a community fire pit area, fostering a sense of gathering and relaxation.
- Restrooms (Under Improvement): Reviews indicate that while restrooms exist, they historically lacked showers and cleanliness was a "do it yourself" affair. However, more recent information suggests restrooms were updated several years ago, alongside a new office and maintenance building built in 2019, indicating ongoing improvements.
- Pump-Out Service: As there are no sewer hookups at individual sites, a pump-out service is available, which is a necessary and costly service for campers with holding tanks.
Harbor Landing Campground, under new ownership, is undergoing a revitalization, and several features and highlights make it an appealing option for Ohio locals, especially those who appreciate value and positive change:
- Under New Ownership & Active Improvement: A significant highlight is the change in ownership and the commitment to renovating and upgrading the park. Recent reviews express excitement about the "difference a month made" and anticipate further improvements, suggesting a dynamic and evolving environment. This provides a unique opportunity for campers to be part of a transforming campground.
- Reasonably Priced & Great Sites: Despite ongoing work, campers have found the sites to be "very reasonably priced" and "great," indicating good value for money.
- Friendly Community & Staff: Repeated mentions of "nice people" and "other campers" creating a positive atmosphere suggest a welcoming and supportive community. The new owners are described as "nice people" and "very accommodating," enhancing the overall experience.
- Riverside Location: Its small size and direct location "on the river" offer a more intimate and peaceful setting compared to larger, busier campgrounds, appealing to those who prefer tranquility.
- Proximity to Port Clinton Attractions: The campground's location offers easy access to popular Ohio destinations like Cedar Point, Put-in-Bay ferries, and local businesses, providing plenty of off-site entertainment and conveniences.
- Updated Electrical & WiFi Infrastructure: Despite some past issues with WiFi, the installation of 50/30/20 amp electric at each metered site and high-speed WiFi throughout the park represents a significant investment in camper comfort.
- Potential for Expansion & Future Amenities: Public records mention immense expansion potential, including room for additional campsites, a swimming pool, or a laundry facility, indicating a promising future for added amenities.
- Enhanced Security: A camera system monitoring the entire grounds provides extra security for campers.

Harbor Landing Campground Reviews
Spent three years there, the only reason that long was the other campers. Very small campground on the river. Now, let's get into the reason we left. No sewer hook up, so it's costly to be pumped out every week. No showers with restrooms, and if you want them clean, it's do it yourself. They did spend money on upgrading the WiFi, but was less than desirable. If not for a few campers there, nothing would get done. Your supposed to get your electric bill every two months, this last year we received it after the campground was closed for the season (one lump some). Prices go up, and nothing to show for it. Office is never open.
Dec 07, 2024 · Ray CousinoBrought our Fifth Wheel to Harbor Landing based on a friends recommendation for a weekend spot to visit Cedar Point. I have to admit we were very skeptical at first. There were a fair number of older mobile homes being demolished when we arrived. It was late in the day so we decided we would be at the park all day and it wouldn't bother us. The owner assured us that this work would not be done on the weekend and it was not. After a trip to Cedar Point we spent Sunday at Harbor Landing - met the owners who had just taken over the campground who said they were starting a lot of work to update the feel of the park. We stopped by again in late October and spoke with the owners again and wow what a difference a month made! Looking forward to going up again this year! Very reasonably priced! Great sites! Nice people! When will on line booking be available!?
Mar 23, 2019 · Lindsey BenderThis campground has been a part of my life for 20+ years. Growing up I would always spend my weekends here with my grandparents, running around with my childhood best friend. It was a good time full of memories. I was beyond excited when the opportunity came around for my husband and myself to buy a trailer of our own so we could start a tradition and my kids could make those same memories I had. All of that dream came to a screeching halt! Last year the previous owners sold the campground. After only owning it for a couple of weeks and doing nothing to better the park for the campers, the new owners jumped lot rent! The new owners focused more on cleaning trees and other things from a residential lot and less on what they could do for the current campers. They either ran campers out or forced them out with their price jump! That price jump alone was too much right out of the gate. Gradually, yeah maybe it would’ve been more affordable, but right away and with no true updates for the campers? I just can’t wrap my head around it. What was once an affordable and fun quiet spot on the river will soon become a loud, potentially dangerous party spot. While that may be appealing to some, I would prefer the family memories over the partying. I mean, even the campground owner races through the campground on their golf cart like it’s a race track. Small children can easily be hit as they walk out from behind a parked vehicle. My entire family used to camp on the same side and my children were able to safely go from camper to camper; this is no longer the case. My heart is absolutely broken.
Jan 11, 2019 · Danielle BeltzStayed here in late September last year for a quick weekend get away with my BF. We really liked the river, beautiful sunsets, and nearby Oak Harbor. There was a bit of noise during the day but the owners were very gracious and explained they had just taken over and were doing a massive cleanup. Definitely looking to go back next summer for a longer weekend with some Cedar Point and Put in Bay visits! Close and convenient to everything and WAY less than a KOA!!!!
Mar 23, 2019 · Carmin BarronWent to this place a few times last year, first time I got there I wanted to turn right around and leave due to the looks of it, there were trailers there that looked trashy( grass not mowed for months it looked it ) trash around the property. I talked to the new owners and they mentioned that they wanted to get people to take better care of their properties to make the campgrounds in geneal nicer looking. We had issues with our boat and the owner and his family helped us fix the issue and helped us get the boat on the trailer at the end of the trip. The difference from the first and second time I was there was night and day. I get people maybe upset about the price increase but I think I would be more upset with how bad people let their spots get, maybe they got too used to how things have been. The new owners have worked wonders already and I cant wait to get our seasonal spot this year :) good job guys
