Grizzly Creek Guard Station Introduce
For Colorado locals yearning for a true escape into the wild, where the stars blaze overhead and the silence is broken only by the whispers of nature, Grizzly Creek Guard Station offers an unparalleled experience. This isn't your typical full-service campground with all the modern conveniences; instead, it's a rustic cabin rental designed for those who embrace simplicity and desire an authentic, off-grid mountain retreat. Located near Walden, deep within Colorado's North Park region, it provides a unique opportunity to disconnect and immerse yourselves in the rugged beauty of our state's wilderness.
Grizzly Creek Guard Station is more than just a place to stay; it's an adventure in itself. Perfect for hunting parties, families looking to introduce their children to a more primitive camping style, or anyone seeking solitude and stunning natural landscapes, this cabin offers a cozy base from which to explore. While it requires a bit of preparation due to its rustic nature, the rewards are immense: breathtaking night skies, abundant wildlife, and the chance to create truly unforgettable memories in the heart of Colorado's unspoiled backcountry. It’s a testament to the diverse range of outdoor experiences available right here in our backyard.
Grizzly Creek Guard Station is situated near Walden, CO 80480, USA, placing it deep within the scenic North Park area of Colorado. This region is renowned for its vast open spaces, abundant wildlife, and exceptional hunting and fishing opportunities. While the exact driving directions to the guard station itself might require specific guidance upon booking (as it's often located off main roads, typical for forest service cabins), its general proximity to Walden means it's accessible via well-maintained state highways.
For Colorado locals, accessing Grizzly Creek Guard Station typically involves a drive through picturesque mountain and high-plains landscapes. Walden, often referred to as the "Moose Capital of Colorado," serves as the nearest town for supplies and services. Given the cabin's rustic nature, visitors should anticipate driving on unpaved forest roads to reach the exact location. While accessible by most vehicles, checking current road conditions, especially during shoulder seasons or after heavy precipitation, is always advisable. The remote setting, while contributing to its allure, means that cell service might be limited or nonexistent, emphasizing the need for proper planning and preparation for an off-grid experience. However, the journey itself is part of the adventure, winding through landscapes that showcase Colorado's stunning natural diversity, making it a compelling destination for those seeking genuine wilderness immersion.

Grizzly Creek Guard Station Reviews
This was an incredible experience for our family. The cabin is very nice overall. We had 2 young boys with us and they loved it. The worst part was not having running water but theres a campground 2 miles away that youre allowed to get water from. We had many campfires, the night sky is awe inducing, and many memories were made. Make sure to bring your own sheets because i dont think theirs have been washed in ages. The place was very dusty and I'm not sure they have a housekeeper for it, ever. They basically rely on people to leave it clean enough for the next guests. There were dustbunnies under the beds and everywhere else. Anyway, get out and explore, it wad worth it!
Sep 10, 2019 · Lily A.W.Perfect for hunting. Warm, bunk beds sleep 4. No running water or electricity, so bring a lantern. Outside pit toilet, so super rustic, but that's what we wanted. Gas stove and gas fireplace. Propane provided. $30/night. Stunning views!
Oct 08, 2022 · Byrne & Judy WrightNice road trip. Nicely preserved history. Take the back roads and smaller highways and see the country.
Mar 23, 2022 · Frank MasekOn a main road so lots of traffic, not secluded like many other cabins, the toliet is a public use toliet so people will come and go during the visit. There are informational signs for the public to read so you might find people wondering outside of the cabin. With that said, this is a nice cabin that is easy to get to. It is well kept with a refrigerator. It does have beds to sleep 5, my family thoughly enjoyed the stay. Easy fishing for the kids only 2 miles away, plenty of game we saw tons of deer and moose during this portion of our stay.
