Granite State Campground Introduce
For New Hampshire locals seeking a convenient and well-maintained base for their outdoor adventures, Granite State Campground in Belmont offers a welcoming option in the heart of the Lakes Region. This independently owned and operated campground, which has been serving the area since 1969, has undergone significant rebuilding and now prides itself on providing clean facilities and a friendly atmosphere. While it might cater to a slightly different camping style than a secluded wilderness retreat, it excels as a hub for exploring the vibrant attractions of central New Hampshire, making it a practical choice for families and travelers from across the Granite State.
Granite State Campground is located at 4 Cycle Ln, Belmont, NH 03220, USA. This address places it squarely in the Lakes Region, a highly popular destination for both seasonal and year-round outdoor activities. Its proximity to major thoroughfares like Route 106 and I-93 makes it easily accessible from various parts of New Hampshire and beyond. While some reviews mention road noise due to its location, its accessibility also means campers are just a short drive from Lake Winnisquam, Lake Winnipesaukee, Gunstock Mountain Resort, and other popular attractions. The campground is described as being on a "very small parcel of land" with sites maximized for capacity, which implies a more communal camping experience rather than isolated, sprawling sites. However, its central location offsets this for many who prioritize convenience to local hotspots. Check-in is typically at 12 PM, and check-out is by 10 AM, with reservations accepted up to one year in advance.
Services Offered:
- A variety of RV sites with full hookups, including 20, 30, and 50 amp electric service, water, and sewer connections. Maximum RV lengths from 25' to 42' can be accommodated depending on the site, all are back-in sites.
- Tent sites with water and electric hookups, and each comes with a picnic table and a fire pit.
- Two newly renovated cabins are available for rent: Pinecone Cabin (sleeps 3) and Pineneedle Cabin (sleeps 2). These cabins feature electric overhead lights, a small sink, picnic table, and fire pit.
- Two modern bathhouses with free hot showers, ensuring clean and comfortable facilities for all campers. One bathhouse is handicap accessible.
- Coin-operated laundry facilities on-site for guest convenience.
- Picnic tables and fire rings are provided at all campsites and cabin rentals.
- Pets are welcome at the campground, with policies requiring them to be leashed outdoors and owners to pick up after them. Pets should not be left alone on the grounds.
- Trash disposal areas are available.
- The campground is open year-round, making it a rare option for winter camping, though water services to individual sites may be turned off if temperatures drop below 30 degrees (lower bathhouse remains open through November 1).
- While public reviews indicate no cable or Wi-Fi at this time, other sources mention Wi-Fi. It's best to confirm this directly with the campground if connectivity is a priority.

Granite State Campground Reviews
I feel bad giving 3 stars because I can see the effort and care that went into this place, but it’s also been maximized for capacity, at a great loss. The tent sites are literally on top of each other. No privacy. No sound barriers. The sound of the highway and the house next door (on the other side of the thin layer of trees) really detracts from a camping experience. There’s nothing to do. No trails, no water front, nothing. Half the “campground” is year round tiny homes?Yes, the bathrooms are nice. Donny was nice at check-in. But I was hoping for more of a rustic / quiet camping experience. None of the reviews reflect this, so I’m making sure it’s known .. this is a very small parcel of land with a maximum number of campsites on it.Thank goodness the campsite above mine was unavailable. I would have heard them swallow their food.
Sep 02, 2024 · Katy MurrayStayed at the campground for 2 weeks and the staff was extremely friendly and hospitable. The facilities were always clean, smelling good and fully stocked along with the entire campground. Fellow campers were also friendly too. Highly recommend this place for the night or longer!
Sep 02, 2024 · Ryan LaVoieGreat comfortable place to camp with electric, cold water, and super clean bath house. Dog friendly and no frills. Highly recommend. One of the rare places your dog is welcome. Thank You!
Jul 13, 2024 · JulieVery nice Campground. We appreciated how clean and maintained everything was. The location was super close to most things in the Lakes Region with the Campground being located right off Rte 106. You could hear some cars at night but wasn’t that loud. I think Next time we might pick a different site for a little more wiggle room within the site. Great stay!
