Grand Lake / Rocky Mountain National Park KOA Journey Reviews
Colorado captured my heart, a place where the soul truly heals, beautiful memories are made, and stunning landscapes envelop you. I cherished the daily rain and the feeling of the sky being so close. Exploring the national parks in their pristine state, witnessing wildlife in its natural habitat, was an unforgettable experience. Sharing this with my children made me incredibly happy. The historic buildings with their vibrant stained glass, the soothing sound of the running river, and the majesty of the tall trees all combined to create a deep sense of serenity.
Jun 10, 2025 · Stephanie BernardinoHe loved this park when it was Elk Creek Campground. It is now a KOA and we still love it. They’ve added some nice patio sites and made many improvements. This is the only place we will stay when visiting Rocky Mountain National Park.
Jun 20, 2025 · Tina HawleyGreat experience! What a beautiful campground. Site 17 backed right up to a beautiful lawn that our kids were able to enjoy. Great shade. Lots of wildlife around. Playground, game room, tv room with train table was our kids favorite part. The WiFi didn’t quite reach site 17 so we used our starlink which worked fine. Super close to the RMNP entrance as well as to downtown grand lake.
Jun 03, 2025 · Summer BowersLoved this KOA!! Had a beautiful patio site (#2) with deck and firepit, gorgeous views and of course the resident moose nearby! Fun amenities and friendly folks. Such a treat to drive Trail Ridge Road and enter RMNP from the west side. Also able to hike Adams Falls and visit the town of Grand Lake! Give yourself a couple of days to get used to the elevation - well worth it!!
Jun 16, 2025 · Kathy SimmonsThis is the fifth straight summer we have stayed here, our third as KOA. This is our retreat, our escape from the hustle and bustle of life. We have stayed in four different sites, all with full hookups, all on the outside of the lower loop. We tend to stay to ourselves, and the outer sites enable one to feel a bit more secluded. The owners are making continual investments in the campground; there is significant progress just since last year with the new deluxe sites and completing an update to the playground. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They also send multiple text reminders throughout the day for shower closures (for cleaning), store hours, and end of day actions to reduce the likelihood of bear encounters. We love this place and have already booked our stay for 2025.
