Goose Point Campground LLC Introduce
For us Vermonters, the allure of Lake Champlain is undeniable – its vast waters, stunning sunsets, and endless recreational opportunities define a quintessential Vermont summer. Nestled on the shores of this beloved lake, Goose Point Campground LLC in Alburgh, VT, offers a direct pathway to all these joys. If you’re a local seeking a convenient, amenity-rich campground with direct lake access, you’ve likely considered or heard about this popular spot. This article will provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of what makes Goose Point Campground a compelling choice for your next family camping adventure in the Champlain Islands.
Goose Point Campground is designed to cater to both transient campers and those looking for a longer seasonal stay, creating a dynamic environment that combines vacationers with a community of returning visitors. As one satisfied traveler noted, it offers "Extremely clean restrooms! And the pool was amazing after a long hot drive. Docks if you have a boat, are available. Very friendly owners. Definitely recommend." This feedback highlights the campground's commitment to essential amenities and friendly service, crucial elements for a comfortable stay.
However, it's also important to have a balanced perspective. Another reviewer, during an RV trip, found it their "least favorite place of the 6 RV campgrounds where we stayed," noting that "Everyone is right on top of each other." They also expressed concerns about supervision, stating, "There is no one really watching the campground either." This suggests that while amenities are strong, the layout might be denser than some prefer, and management presence may vary. Despite these points, the core offerings of a pool, boat docks, and lake access, coupled with reportedly "very friendly owners," continue to draw campers to this Lake Champlain locale. For many Vermonters, the opportunity to be right on the lake, with these conveniences, can outweigh concerns about site spacing.
Goose Point Campground LLC is perfectly situated at 5066 US-2, Alburgh, VT 05440, USA. This location places it directly on the shores of beautiful Lake Champlain, in the scenic Champlain Islands region of Vermont. Alburgh is a town on a peninsula extending into Lake Champlain, making it an ideal spot for water-based recreation and offering picturesque views.
Access to the campground is straightforward, as it's located directly on US-2, a major roadway that traverses the Champlain Islands and connects to mainland Vermont. For those traveling from various parts of Vermont, US-2 provides convenient access. If coming from the south, you'll travel north through the islands, enjoying scenic lake views along the way. From points east or west, connecting to US-2 will lead you directly to the campground. The presence of US-2 right at the campground means easy entry and exit for all types of vehicles, including larger RVs.
While the location offers fantastic lake access, one review noted that sites could be "right on top of each other," with a specific instance requiring them to "move our car so he could pull into his spot." This suggests that while easily accessible from the main road, the internal layout of the campground might feature relatively tight spacing between sites, which is common in popular lakeside campgrounds aiming to maximize lake views and access. However, this close proximity can also foster a lively, communal atmosphere for those who enjoy being around other campers. The location’s primary draw remains its direct connection to Lake Champlain, making it a prime spot for Vermont locals to enjoy the lake’s many offerings.

Traveling up through Canada and stopped here to camp on our way back home. Extremely clean restrooms! And the pool was amazing after a long hot drive. Docks if you have a boat, are available. Very friendly owners. Definitely recommend.
Jul 17, 2024 · Christine SWe stopped here for 1 night on an RV trip to Maine. This was our least favorite place of the 6 RV campgrounds where we stayed. Everyone is right on top of each other. When our neighbor pulled in we were so close together we had to move our car so he could pull into his spot. There is no one really watching the campground either. There were a bunch of young men sitting in the road right outside our campsite, no one ever said anything. There's no one watching that good are leashed and the dump is up hill and kinda far away.
Jul 20, 2024 · Alla PeckhamWe went camping here and got put in one of the worst camp sites I have ever been in, it was right on the highway (route 5) and across the way was the rest of the camp which were blaring the news and being rowdy until late. The campgrounds is full of seasonal and long term RV spots, not a bad thing but notable. If I wanted to camp on the side of a main road with cars driving by all night I’d do it in Burlington and not pay $60 to do it in Alburg
Jul 15, 2024 · Brendan Hamill-O'NeilI basically grew up at this campground 55 years ago. We we started there we 6 campers. Sad to see it so over populated. Teach there own but I am not at a campground with about 25 campers and plenty of space to move around.
Jul 20, 2024 · Connie CoburnThis campground has approx 220 sites where 95% are permanently occupied with seasonal residents. Site was on a sloped ridge parallel to one of the vehicle paths. Zero privacy. Neighbors on three sides separated by about 10 feet.Be prepared for:- A continuous parade of golf carts passing by on the nearby path with drivers and passengers yelling greetings to everyone they know.- People walking though your site going to visit others- People parking on your site in front of your trailer with pickup trucks and/or golf carts. I had both at the same time.- Loud parties, possibly on two sides simultaneously, until after midnight complete with smoky campfires and conversations unsuitable for children.- Barking dogsOther than that, it was lovely.Expensive for what you get.
