Glacier View Campground

Redfish Lake Rd, Stanley, ID 83278, USA

4.0
Glacier view campground is beautiful. It’s close to the lake. Just a minute or two walk. It’s also close enough to the lodge/restaurant. I enjoyed walking to get coffee at the two guns cafe every morning and looking at the lake while it was glassy. Can’t wait to come back next summer. FYI- there is some walk up availability and it’s one of the only spots at redfish that you can bring a camp trailer. We had a 21ft and it was easy to tow it up there and park. - Renee St. Hilaire

Glacier View Campground Introduce

Hello, fellow Idaho adventurers and nature enthusiasts! If you've been dreaming of a picturesque getaway where towering mountains meet crystal-clear waters, then look no further than Glacier View Campground. Nestled on the north shore of stunning Redfish Lake, beneath the majestic Sawtooth Mountain Range, this campground is a true gem in the heart of our beloved state. It’s a place where the grandeur of Idaho's wilderness is on full display, offering an unforgettable escape for families, couples, and solo travelers alike.

For us locals, Redfish Lake is iconic, a cherished destination that truly encapsulates the wild beauty of Idaho. Glacier View Campground provides an exceptional opportunity to experience this beauty firsthand. Imagine waking up to the awe-inspiring sight of Mount Heyburn reflecting on the glassy lake, grabbing a morning coffee with a serene view, and spending your days exploring trails or splashing in the refreshing water. This campground combines the peace of a natural setting with convenient access to recreational activities and nearby amenities, making it a perfect base for your Sawtooth National Recreation Area adventures.

Location and Accessibility

Glacier View Campground is ideally situated at Redfish Lake Rd, Stanley, ID 83278, USA. This prime location places it directly on the north shore of Redfish Lake, offering incredible proximity to one of Idaho's most iconic natural landmarks. At an elevation of 6,500 feet, campers are immersed in a beautiful lodgepole pine forest, with many sites boasting excellent views of the lake and the rugged Mount Heyburn.

Access to the campground is straightforward. From Stanley, Idaho, you take State Highway 75 south approximately 4 miles, then turn west onto Forest Road 214, and finally a left at the Glacier View Campground entrance sign. The roads and parking spurs within the campground are paved, which is a significant advantage for those towing RVs or trailers. This makes towing even larger trailers (like 21ft, as noted by a reviewer) easy, distinguishing it as one of the few spots at Redfish Lake that comfortably accommodates them.
