Gehrke's Lake and Campground Reviews
This campground has camper hookups and tent camping at $20 a night. Short term campsites are mostly lakeside with swimming, fishing, and paddle boats. Trails for walking and/or atvs. Off the beaten path but with a Walmart within 20 minutes for any forgotten necessities. I really recommend it! The owner is very attentive and will do anything to make your stay the best.
Jun 08, 2020 · Stephanie GoreckiDisappointed with our stay after reading all the positive reviews. We called two times to ensure our booking, since we did not receive a text back. We also clarified that our spot would have full hook-ups - which the owners wife assured us that we would. After having a long 9 hour travel day, we called to let the owners know we would be arriving after dark. Upon arrival, we were directed to a space with electric only and told that was our space.Spots are not marked and we were practically on top of some tent campers. Campers are parked every which way, making it difficult to navigate in an out.In the morning, we saw that many areas were filled with trash and there was no clear marked area to place waste bags. We spent a good 20 minutes picking up litter from other campers around our area.Sadly, we do not plan on returning to Gehrke's.
Jul 19, 2021 · Amber ScarbearyQuiet campground with a pretty little pond and is pet & family friendly. Bathroom is terrible looking at least the one we saw. This will do for a quick stay and the owner is very personable.
Sep 25, 2023 · Rebecca BThe main part of the campground was pretty packed bc it’s Labor Day weekend, but our camper has solar so we were able to park in a separate area, which was very peaceful and quiet. “Rock” brought us firewood and was so friendly at our check-in. If you need a place to stay in Iowa, stop by Gehrke’s for some Midwest charm.
