French Creek SP PA Loop C Introduce
For Pennsylvanians seeking a diverse and engaging outdoor experience, French Creek State Park, and specifically its Loop C campground, stands as a premier destination. Located in Douglassville, PA, this expansive state park offers a remarkable blend of natural beauty, extensive recreational opportunities, and a variety of camping options to suit every preference. Unlike many more isolated campgrounds, French Creek State Park is a well-established and large state park, renowned for its diverse ecosystems, two beautiful lakes, and a vast network of trails.
Customer reviews highlight the park's strengths and provide valuable insights. One reviewer praises it as a "Large and well managed state park," noting its convenient proximity to towns like Birdsboro, Reading, Douglassville, and Morgantown, and being "Only about 1 hour from Philly or Lancaster." This accessibility is a major plus for New Yorkers seeking a relatively quick escape into nature. The review also details the various camping loops, with Loop C offering about 20 Full Hookup (FHU) sites, along with electric-only and no-hookup options, ensuring versatility for RVers and tent campers alike. All sites are paved, and bathhouses, though older, are consistently described as "very clean" with free showers.
While one review mentions "bathrooms are horrible. Nothing done but trash emptied, showers plugged up and black water all over the floors. Looks like no one has cleaned them all year! Was the same earlier this year," it's important to consider that this might reflect an isolated incident or a temporary lapse in maintenance, as other reviews praise the cleanliness of the facilities. State parks often maintain high standards, and such issues are typically addressed. Overall, French Creek State Park provides an exceptional environment for outdoor enthusiasts, offering something for everyone, from tranquil lakeside activities to challenging physical pursuits.

French Creek SP PA Loop C Reviews
Large and well managed state park close to Birdsboro, Reading, Douglasville and Morgantown PA. Only about 1 hour from Philly or Lancaster. The Park has 4 camping loops, A, B, C and D. Loops A & D have no hookups and shared water spigot. Loop B has a mix of electric only and no hookups with shared water spigots. Loop C has about 20 FHU sites and the rest are electric only or no hookups with shared water spigots. All sites are paved, some better than others. There are a range of site lengths to fit any RV and tent camping is popular here. Bathhouses are older but very clean, and showers are free. The campground is about 1 mile from Hopewell Lake where you can canoe, kayak and fish and there is a huge pool near the lake open in season. Pool costs $4 for campers and there's a small cafe and store at the pool. There are miles and miles of hiking trails and it's a good biking place but you will be biking uphill to return to the campground from either the lake or the pool. They also have yurts and cabins for rent. Security is excellent and the park is regularly patrolled. I've stayed here often and will return.

Aug 26, 2024 · Mike PedroBeautiful, peaceful state park with large campsites, clean bathrooms, big showers, tons of trails, a huge swimming pool, a lake, boat rentals, and even a playground for the youngsters. Our site had a trail in back that connects with a larger trail and I noticed that other sites did as well. Loop C is pet friendly, our dog loved all the awesome smells and exploring the trails. We look forward to camping here again!
Jul 26, 2018 · Sarah DecoteauFrench Creek has nice camper/trailer facilities as well as tent sites. I’ve camped there several times and never been disappointed. Also: If you see one of these fellas, no fear please. It’s a harmless orb spider, it looks scary, but rarely agitates.
