- Electrical Hookups: Many sites, including tent sites, come with electrical hookups, providing convenience for lighting, charging devices, and small appliances. Reviewers praise the owner's responsiveness to electrical issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Well-Maintained Bathrooms: The restroom facilities are consistently described as clean, spacious, and well-stocked with necessities, including toilet paper, which is a significant plus for campers.

- Pet-Friendly Policy: Pets are welcomed at Fox Hill Camping Area, with a clear policy requiring them to have current papers and remain on leash. This makes it a great option for New Yorkers who want to bring their furry family members along.
- Supportive Ownership and Management: The owners, Guy and Patty, and their family, are frequently praised for being "stellar," "very nice," and actively involved in keeping the campground running smoothly and ensuring everyone is "in check." This hands-on management contributes significantly to the peaceful and respectful atmosphere.
- Seasonal Camping Options: A significant portion of the campground caters to seasonal campers, fostering a stable and friendly community. This option allows individuals and families to establish a long-term presence and deep connections.
- Emphasis on "Real" Camping: The campground's approach is to provide a setting where children can get "back to nature" and engage in self-directed play, rather than relying on a schedule of organized activities provided by staff. This encourages independence and creativity.
- Security and Oversight: The owners are noted for knowing "EVERYTHING that goes on," implying a watchful but not intrusive presence that ensures peace and order within the park.

This provides significant savings and the benefit of a consistent home-away-from-home throughout the camping season. For New Yorkers looking for a regular summer retreat without the commitment of property ownership, this is a compelling offer. Direct inquiry is recommended for specific seasonal pricing.
- Value for Money: The consistent praise for clean facilities, spacious sites, and the overall peaceful atmosphere suggests that Fox Hill provides excellent value for its rates. Campers feel they are getting a quality experience without feeling "crammed in" or dealing with poorly maintained amenities.
- The "Authentic Camping" Experience: For families seeking a less commercialized camping trip where children are encouraged to engage with nature directly and forge organic friendships, Fox Hill offers this specific type of experience. This unique philosophical approach, where staff don't "hold their hand every minute with an organized activity," can be seen as a valuable "offer" for parents who prioritize self-reliance and true outdoor immersion for their kids.
- Pet-Friendly Inclusion: The explicit welcome of pets (with proper documentation and leash rules) is a significant "offer" for pet-owning New Yorkers, as finding quality campgrounds that genuinely accommodate furry family members can sometimes be a challenge.
- Loyalty and Community: While not a discount, the strong sense of community and the ability to build "lifelong friendships" among repeat and seasonal campers is a long-term "promotion" in itself. This creates a welcoming environment that encourages repeat visits and a feeling of belonging.

Fox Hill Camping Area Reviews
I had a wonderful 4 days...quiet and relaxing. It's mostly seasonal campers, but all polite and friendly. I rented #35 and had a tent. Nothing is crammed in and the rolling hills are covered with spectacular trees. I had an electrical issue and the owner came to my rescue, very nice man! The capstone was nice and well stocked.
Jul 27, 2024 · James P. LambertI’ve camped here many years. Started as a weekender then transitioned to seasonal. So many wonderful cherished memories and friendships I still hold dear. Life changed course for me, so I’m no longer a camper there, but do still visit from time to time. It’s extremely peaceful. If you are family camping and are looking for a place for your children to get back to nature and don’t expect an adult or staff to hold their hand every minute with an organized activity, THIS IS YOUR PLACE! If you want your children to REALLY CAMP and not be distracted with activities and to make life long friendships, THIS IS THE PLACE. If you have no children, I promise, you will not be infiltrated with brats! The parents who come to this campground are awesome! They know where their children are. The kids are respectful; but let’s be honest- kids are kids, and when one does step out of line, the parents ALWAYS handle it immediately and it’s been my experience it’s followed up with a face to face apology and it’s usually the last time it happens; and it’s RARE! Also pets are welcome! Just gotta have papers and on leash. Owners are stellar (Guy and Patty ❤️ and their entire family). They know EVERYTHING that goes on and keep everyone in check. Side note: you MORE THAN LIKELY at some point may see a bear if you’re lucky!Don’t pass this beautiful destination up! Way too many memories to be missed out on! You won’t be sorry!!
Jul 24, 2023 · Danielle JuchemClean, pet-friendly camping. Mostly seasonals so it's not tailored to suit newcomers. Narrow one-way roads with no directional signs make it harder for longer trailers but it's very peaceful.
Jul 04, 2024 · Dawn Van VorstFor seasonal campers, this place is quiet, clean, and friendly. We really like the way the community welcomes newcomers. Sites are roomy and most are shaded.
Sep 05, 2024 · Stephen AtwoodI've enjoyed camping at Fox Hill for many years, however this is the first time I camped with my two young boys and wife. We rented a 36 ft trailer on the main pond and loved every minute. The camper had plenty of space for two young children and two adults. The grounds were clean and well maintained.
