Fourche Mountain Recreation Area, nestled in Rover, Arkansas, answers that call with an impressive blend of rugged natural beauty and welcoming amenities. This isn't just a basic campground; it's a comprehensive outdoor destination, particularly renowned among RV enthusiasts and ATV riders seeking to explore the vast and scenic Ouachita National Forest.
Imagine pulling your RV into a spacious site, or perhaps settling into a cozy cabin or a luxurious glamping tent, all while knowing that miles of thrilling ATV trails are right at your doorstep. Fourche Mountain Recreation Area offers this unique blend of convenience and adventure, making it an ideal spot for locals looking to unplug, get a little muddy, and create unforgettable memories amidst the stunning backdrop of the Arkansas mountains. It's a testament to the diverse and vibrant outdoor experiences our "Natural State" has to offer.
Fourche Mountain Recreation Area is located at Rover, AR 72860, USA. This places it deep within the scenic Ouachita National Forest, making it a prime spot for immersive outdoor experiences. For residents across Arkansas, accessing this hidden gem is relatively straightforward. Rover is situated off major highways, and while the final approach will involve some rural roads typical of national forest areas, the overall journey is manageable for vehicles and RVs.
The true accessibility highlight of Fourche Mountain Recreation Area is its direct adjacency to the extensive Fourche Mountain ATV Trail system. This means that unlike many other locations where you might need to trailer your ATV or side-by-side to a separate trailhead, here you can literally start your ride right from your campsite. This unparalleled convenience significantly enhances the experience for off-road enthusiasts. While the area offers a sense of seclusion and wilderness, it's not so remote that you're entirely cut off; towns with essential services like gas stations and grocery stores are typically within a 10-30 minute drive, providing a good balance between wilderness immersion and practical needs.

The positive reviews from fellow campers resonate deeply with our local values. We value a "beautiful" campsite with "big pull through RV sites" and clean, accessible amenities like a "shower house." The mention of "great ATV trails in beautiful surroundings" is a significant draw, speaking to our love for exploring the rugged terrain of the Ouachita Mountains. And while the honest feedback about "horrible" flies and gnats is a real consideration – a reminder that even in paradise, nature has its challenges – it's something many of us are prepared for with the right bug spray and screen tents, as seasoned Arkansas campers know. The fact that a "super-nice and accommodating" camp host is on hand, and a "designated place to spray off our side-by-side" is provided, speaks volumes about the care and thoughtfulness put into the camper experience.

Great place to stay in an RV, the cabin and glamping tent look very nice too. Big pull through RV sites. Great atv trails in beautiful surroundings. Ice is available and there is a shower house if you don't want to use the shower in your RV.
May 08, 2024 · Mike MThe campsite itself was beautiful, but the flies and gnats were horrible. I know we were camping, so flies and other bugs are to be expected, but they were so bad that we couldn’t sit outside for an extended amount of time. Having to stay in our camper the entire time definitely took away from the camping experience. We go camping a lot, and the bugs were the worst that we’ve ever seen. The camp host, Ken, was super-nice and accommodating. We love that they provided a designated place to spray off our side-by-side, which was super convenient. We would camp here again.
