Fond du Lac Campground Reviews
My wife, daughter and myself had a blast!!! The camp attendant (I forgot her name) was very very nice and always made sure everything was going good and that our needs were met. We did two tents and a big screen tent. Our original spot was to small and they had no problems with us switching to a bigger site. The fishing was actually pretty decent from the shore. Caught smallmouths, channel catfish, crappies, and rock bass. The views are pretty! Specially looking down through the canyon of the lower St Louis River area. The camp ground itself is pretty and very well kept.Only issue was some loud teenagers at the park across the street until early hrs of the morning. We will definitely be going back very soon.Thank you for having us!
Jun 19, 2025 · Rich NotyourkindThe place is basic. Pit toilets, clean. Fire pit. Table. Water hookups were too far for 25 foot hose. Fairly quiet, playground for kids, next to the river. Spot was almost flat. Steep narrow driveway to enter and exit. 30 min to Duluth.
Jun 23, 2025 · Karin BoeckLoved staying in the little cabin. There's only one outlet, but they do have a power strip in there as well as a fan and heater. Flush toliets and showers were very clean. Even the vault toliets were very clean, which isn't usually the case other places I've been. Our toddler loved that we were close to water, that there's a sandbox, and there's a great park across the street.
Jun 14, 2025 · Devon ChristensenNo cabin rental for us, just a tent site. Was good enough. Owner of the campground delivered wood and stacked it under a dry location for us. Fishing was good. Very hospitable and quiet.
May 21, 2025 · Kevin WallarFond du Lac Campground offers an excellent experience for nature lovers. The campground stands out for its great service—staff are friendly, accommodating, and make sure campers feel welcome. The location is ideal, nestled along the river, offering serene views and peaceful surroundings that provide a perfect escape into nature. The contact-less check-in and checkout process is smooth and easy, ensuring a hassle-free experience from start to finish. In terms of cleanliness, the campground maintains high standards, with well-kept facilities and clean. Whether it's the restrooms, campsites, or picnic areas, everything is well-maintained. The natural beauty of the area is wonderful, with plenty of privacy, riverside views, and opportunities for outdoor activities, making it an ideal spot for relaxation or adventure. We had a large group and rented 7 spots, 6 campsites and 1 RV site, all in the same area. The RV site was a back-up site with water and 30 amp hook-up, we had plenty of room to maneuver. The campground is small, cozy in fact, but there was enough space that we weren't bothered by other campers and we (hopefully) weren't a nuisance to other campers either.Quiet time starts at 10pm and everyone quieted down at that time. We were there for a 14 year-old golden birthday celebration, we played outdoor games, grilled ribs and steaks, and other meats, cooked up quite a fancy feast actually. We caught a huge catfish.Other campers brought their boats and kayaks, we could see them docked along the river. We saw people in kayaks all day long. A couple who had a boat told us they took their boat out to a sandbar and a swimming beach.Overall, highly recommend this campground!
