Nov 23, 2024 · JD LWe stayed at the Turkeys Roost mid August and it was great, clean and perfect for a couple with two bunk beds in addition. It's set up on the hillside surrounded by trees. Pictures are accurate. Jenny was great and allowed us an little early check in. Located very close to the dam and Hatchery Creek it was just right for a fishing trip. They sell a nice chunk of wood for $5 for the fire pit just down around the corner at the camp ground store. The store has some basics and some fishing supplies. It's not a hotel room, it's campy which was cool. You'll need an SUV or pickup to get up the 70 yard drive up there. It's a little rough for a car. We'll be back.
Aug 30, 2018 · joe mageeMy brother and I have been taking my son's up there to stay at Foggy Bottom for years now when we go to fish the cumberland. We come up from NC. The owners always go out of their way to accommodate us in any way they can. They are very pleasant and eager to make the campground pleasant. We usually stay in the bunk house but have stayed in other cabins as well as camped. They dont bother you, you just enjoy peace and quiet the entire time your there. You just cant ask for any better for just a relaxing stay in the wilderness, good people, quiet place, cool, close to fishing, or hunting. What else is there? In fact we will be headed that way in a couple weeks!
Jul 22, 2020 · Jason WhitakerPros: Cute little cabin positioned perfectly in a wooded area. Beds were clean and bathroom was nice. Within good distance from all local fishing holes and such. Manager/Owner friendly. Fully loaded with all you'd need, houseware wise.Cons: Outside needs work-molded roof and with cosmetic damage. Inside needs more TLC, spider webs everywhere and no broom or anything available to clean it up. Kicked a breaker and the manager/owner didn't get back with us on how to fix it for a few hours.Pro/Con: (depending on who you are!) No wifi but does have satellite dish.Could be a really nice place if fixed up and deep cleaned.
Sep 23, 2018 · Bryant FamilyBathrooms very dirty. After camping for 4 nights and having booked for 6 we were asked by owner (9pm the night before) to move our entire tent set up to another site as the owner had mistakingly given us a site that was having gravel delivered. Whilst this is unfortunate it is not reasonable to request people to move their entire campsite during their stay!!! Whilst we were offered help to move we do not want anyone moving our camping stuff and personal items!!!!Owner only corresponds via email. If a mistake is made on the owners part, the camper should not have to sacrifice their site. Apparently I was told by the campground manager that this is a private campground and owner can do as they please!!!I don’t see this as good customer service.I cleaned a toilet myself as it was so filthy I was scared to use it!!!! I did not complain about the bathrooms to the owner but there was no one to be found on site anyway. So unfortunately whilst this is a lovely quiet spot it is not very organized.
