Floyd Parkway Village

Campground ★1.0

141 Chestnut Ln SE, Floyd, VA 24091, USA

1.0
Friendly. However sadly, after leaving the property. The deposit became conditionally refundable. Slightly confused on their boundaries to which their rules govern. I was told even though I vacated the campground property. My dog was still too close to the premise and they would not refund deposit until we moved further away. It was clear that they we're expecting me to satisfy their ego and consequently be in a less desirable situation. When they realized their authority ran out of reach and had no control over the new location. It was as if in a last desperate attempt for control, the deposit became a tool to force me into meeting their demands. It Reminded me how fortunate it is to have good friends and why treating people fairly always wins. I will pray for them. I encourage anyone to experience the campground for themselves. Other than the immature and unprofessional ethics at the end. It was a decent place with some great people I am so thankful i met. - R. S.

Services Offered

Floyd Parkway Village focuses on providing essential services for its medium to long-term residents, ensuring a comfortable and connected stay amidst the natural beauty of Floyd. The core offerings are tailored to RV and tiny home living:

  • Full Hook-up RV Spaces: The primary service offered is full hook-up sites, which include 30A and 50A electric service, water, and sewer connections. This comprehensive utility provision is crucial for comfortable extended stays in RVs and tiny homes.
  • Wi-Fi Connectivity: High-speed internet access (Wi-Fi) is available on site. While one reviewer mentioned it could be "up and down," another found "Wifi decent" and "Free WiFi was very good." This connectivity is vital for residents who work remotely or wish to stay connected with family and friends.
  • Bath House: A clean and well-maintained bath house is located on-site, providing restrooms and showers for guests. Reviews praise the facilities, stating, "Bathroom B was one of the cleanest bathhouses we have seen at campgrounds," and "Bathroom/Showers are very good and kept extremely clean."
  • Guest Laundry: For the convenience of long-term residents, guest laundry facilities are available, including washers and dryers.
  • Pet-Friendly Environment: Floyd Parkway Village is a pet-friendly establishment. However, strict rules apply: pets must be on a leash at all times, owners are responsible for cleaning up after them, and pets cannot be left unattended in the campsite, car, or tied up when the owner leaves the campground.
  • Community Fire Pit (Potentially): While not explicitly stated for individual sites, some sources for similar campgrounds in the area mention community fire rings or firewood provided, suggesting a communal fire experience might be available. Individual fire rings are typically provided at sites.
  • Designated Parking: Guests are expected to keep vehicles in gravel areas, with two vehicles permitted per site, and additional cars/boats/trailers in designated auxiliary parking.
  • Trash and Recycling: Facilities for garbage disposal are available, with emphasis on proper bagging and use of designated bins. Recycling options for tin, aluminum, plastic, and glass are also provided.
  • Firewood: Firewood can be purchased at the check-in Campstore, and even delivered to the campsite by staff, as noted in a review.
  • Staff on Site: The presence of staff, including friendly hosts and rangers, contributes to a well-managed environment and assistance when needed.

Features / Highlights

Floyd Parkway Village offers several distinctive features and highlights that make it an attractive option for its residents:

  • Strategic Blue Ridge Parkway Access: Its location "immediately off the world renowned Blue Ridge Parkway" provides unparalleled access to scenic drives, hiking trails (like those at Rocky Knob Recreation Area and Buffalo Mountain Natural Area Preserve), and countless outdoor adventures.
  • Medium to Long-Term Stays: Unlike daily rental campgrounds, its focus on "medium term and long term options (no daily rentals)" cultivates a stable, community-oriented atmosphere, appealing to those seeking a more permanent or extended base.
  • Proximity to Downtown Floyd: Being just a few miles from Downtown Floyd is a major draw. Residents can easily access the town's famous "Friday Night Jamboree" at the Floyd Country Store, eclectic shops, art galleries (Floyd Center for the Arts), local restaurants (like Dogtown Roadhouse), breweries, and farmers markets.
  • Scenic Mountain Views: Located in the "spectacular Blue Ridge Mountains," the campground offers beautiful vistas, with some RV sites on a hilltop providing "gorgeous views and sunsets," as noted by a reviewer.

  • Hiking and Mountain Biking Trails On-site: The property features "well marked trails on the property for hiking and mountain biking," providing immediate recreational opportunities without needing to leave the campground.
  • Disc Golf Course: A 9-hole disc golf course is available for use until sunset, offering a fun and engaging activity for all ages.
  • Clean and Well-Maintained Facilities: The high standard of cleanliness for the bathhouses and facilities is consistently highlighted in positive reviews, ensuring a comfortable stay.
  • Family and Pet Friendly: The campground welcomes families and pets, making it a suitable option for those traveling with their loved ones, including furry companions.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a campground primarily offering medium to long-term stays, Floyd Parkway Village is less likely to feature seasonal "promotions" in the same vein as daily rental campgrounds. Their primary "offer" is the availability of full hook-up sites for extended periods in a desirable location.

Pricing would be structured around monthly or multi-month rates, which inherently offer a better value compared to nightly or weekly rates at transient campgrounds. Prospective residents should inquire directly with Floyd Parkway Village about their current rates for medium and long-term stays, as well as any specific policies regarding duration of stay or reservation procedures. Given its focus, any "special offers" would likely be related to extended commitments or particular times of the year when availability might be higher. It's advisable to contact them via phone for the most accurate and up-to-date information on their pricing and availability for your desired duration.
