What is worth choosing Fletcher View Campground? The choice to camp at Fletcher View is an excellent one for several key reasons. Firstly, its prime location in Mount Charleston provides a high-altitude retreat from the Las Vegas heat, offering a distinct and pleasant change of climate. The campground's unique combination of services, particularly the availability of RV electric and water hookups, sets it apart from many other primitive camping areas. This makes it a perfect middle ground between roughing it and staying at an RV park, offering the best of both worlds. The camp hosts, like Bob and his wife mentioned in a positive review, are often a highlight, contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Furthermore, the campground's emphasis on accessibility ensures that a broader range of people can enjoy the natural environment. The fact that it is both kid-friendly and dog-friendly makes it an inclusive destination for the entire family. The provided amenities like picnic tables and grills simplify the logistics of a camping trip, allowing campers to focus on relaxation and recreation. While some user experiences may be less than ideal, such as the described encounter with a host and issues with reservations, these instances do not detract from the campground's overall appeal and well-regarded status among the camping community. The combination of its convenient location, exceptional facilities, and beautiful setting makes Fletcher View Campground a top choice for a memorable outdoor experience in Nevada.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Best campground on Mt Charleston. Only campground with power.Bob and his wife are the nicest hosts we’ve ever met.
April 13 · NoBeerBobI had a very frustrating and disappointing experience here. I arrived and noticed that online it showed there were available campsites. However, as soon as I pulled in, an older bald man in what looked like a makeshift vehicle with a light bar approached me in an extremely rude and unwelcoming tone, repeatedly asking "Can I help you? Can I help you?" as if I wasn’t welcome.I explained I saw open spots online, but he immediately told me there was nothing left and that it was full — even though there were clearly open spaces. He said that if I wanted to camp on the weekend, I would need to reserve the entire week starting Monday. This made no sense and felt like a complete shakedown. First-come, first-served should mean whoever shows up first gets the site, not whoever is willing to pay for five extra days they don’t plan to use.The way he spoke and handled the situation completely went against the spirit of fair access to public campgrounds. It seemed like he was trying to keep people out or hold spots for others. If sites are available and it’s first-come, first-served, visitors should be able to use them — not be turned away for no good reason. This campground is supposed to be for everyone, not controlled by someone on a power trip. I hope the Forest Service looks into this, because it's really unfair to families and campers who come out hoping to enjoy nature but are treated like intruders.
July 19 · JThe hosts are very welcoming and do a great job of keeping the campground secure! The coolest part so far has been seeing a pack of wild horses wander through.Of note: There is water, but you can’t hookup a hose to the spigot. So unless you want to fill your gravity tank manually, fill up before you get here!
April 29 · Conrad HenkelWhat a relaxation! To be able to escape the city to this wonderful but peaceful place. My niece invited me and I really had a nice but beautiful time with the family camping here for few days. Imagined, closed to 5,000 above sea level I sort of was running out of air. But thank God I hot use to it. You have come here. For the price of $99 it was worth it every moment. This place has breathtaking views of the mountains and and nice beautiful little town up the trail. I fully recommend this place. It was cold at nights but nice during the day. By the way there are wild horses running around. I love this place
April 17 · Eugenio GonzalezPretty nice campground with electric plug-in. Close to hiking, quiet at night. 11 spots available and it's first come first serve in the off season (winter). $33 per night unless you have some discount.Clean heated bathrooms, no showers and no water on our visit.Sites 4 and 5 have the best views and are close to the bathrooms. Site 10, ours, is the most private. Cool area worth checking out for a day or two, close to Vegas and on the edge of death valley. Snow on the ground and 18-20 degrees at night on our visit, 11/11-11-13.
