We had a lovely two-night stay at First Landing State Park in Kendall Loop with our 25-foot Class C RV. The campsite was clean, spacious, and had reliable water and electric hookups. The fire ring and picnic table made it easy to enjoy relaxing evenings outdoors. The highlight was the beach! It was just a short walk from the campsite, and we were lucky to catch both a gorgeous sunset and a peaceful sunrise. The beach was quiet and uncrowded, which made the experience even more special. It was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature. The restrooms and showers were clean and had hot water, which was very appreciated in the cool November weather. The park was peaceful, and the staff were friendly and helpful.Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable camping trip. Introduction / Overview

First Landing State Park holds a special place in Virginia's heritage, being the site where English colonists first landed in 1607 before establishing Jamestown. Today, this sprawling 2,888-acre park continues to welcome visitors, offering a unique camping experience nestled between the bustling resort city of Virginia Beach and the serene waters of the Chesapeake Bay. The campground itself is situated on the Bay side, providing a distinctly different vibe from the oceanfront. Here, you won't find crashing waves, but rather the calm, gentle lapping of the bay, making for a more peaceful and often less crowded beach experience.

First Landing State Park Campground is renowned for its clean, spacious campsites and well-maintained facilities. As many campers attest, it offers a "lovely" and "relaxing" stay. The atmosphere is generally quiet and family-friendly, making it an ideal spot for those looking to unwind and reconnect with nature without venturing too far off the beaten path. Despite its natural setting, the convenience of nearby Virginia Beach amenities is just a short distance away, offering the best of both worlds. Whether you're pitching a tent, pulling in an RV, or opting for a more comfortable cabin or yurt, First Landing provides a gateway to exploring Virginia's diverse coastal environment.
