Fawn Loop B Group Campground distinguishes itself by catering exclusively to groups, ensuring a more private and coordinated camping experience. With the benefit of a well-shaded environment and essential amenities like flush toilets and running water, it strikes a balance between rustic charm and convenient facilities. While direct lake access might require a short hike, the overall setting amidst the forest offers a true escape into nature, characteristic of the stunning landscapes found in this part of California. We'll delve into its location, services, unique features, and why it's a suitable choice for Californians looking for a group camping destination.
Fawn Loop B Group Campground is situated on Fawn Rd, Trinity Center, CA 96091, USA, placing it within the vast and scenic Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Its location near Trinity Lake means campers are immersed in a region known for its recreational opportunities, particularly water-based activities, though direct, easy access to the lake from the campground itself requires a bit of effort. The drive to the campground typically involves navigating through forest roads, which are generally well-maintained but can vary with weather conditions. It's advisable for groups to check road conditions and directions prior to their arrival, especially if towing trailers or large vehicles.
While the campground provides a secluded feel, it's not entirely isolated. Trinity Center, a small community, is within reasonable driving distance, offering basic supplies and services should your group need them. The journey to the lakefront from the campsites involves an approximately 20-minute hike, which, while shaded and pleasant, can be steep and muddy, especially after rain or when lake levels are low. This aspect is important for groups to consider, particularly those with younger children or individuals with mobility challenges.

Fawn Loop B Group Campground Reviews
Very nice group site. Lake is very low, and it rained a lot during our stay. Even wet the sites were fairly clean, but the path to the lake was steep and muddy.
Sep 18, 2023 · Patrick BonnerYou should know that it is a 20 minute hike to the water front. It is well shaded and the bathrooms do flush so that's a plus. Also you have access to running water so no need to bring lots with you.
Jul 12, 2021 · C. WatsonBeautiful weather, very clean and comfortable, flushing restrooms, water is a little jaunt away but quite rock so bring water shoes or calloused feet. Pits have grills but need to clean or bring skillets. The view of the night sky is one you wont regret.... (dont mind the footwear- cut wood without hard toe at own risk)
Oct 05, 2019 · Austin GevedenThis place is so beautiful! I believe Loop B is closest to lake access. We had my wedding here and it was perfect! Quiet, intimate, perfect for kids and dogs to run around.. The bathrooms weren't too far and the toilets flushed which was great but make sure to bring hand sanitizer to clean your hands after! The short walk to the water is downhill and very rocky so wear shoes. On the walk to the water you'll see trail signs in either direction, I believe a bike trail? We only saw 4 bicyclists use it during our 4 day stay so I'll it was still pretty private. In the summer beware of meat bees!! There were swarms of them during our stay and although we stayed on cleaning up and keeping food and garbage put away they were everywhere so just be prepared. Honestly it was a great place and we plan to return again sometime in the next few years! This will become one of our regular spots
Jan 30, 2020 · Heather PrewittBeautiful group camp ground. Could use a little maintenance, tree trimming etc, but other than that...absolutely beautiful and peaceful there. Clean bathrooms. No cell service which makes it even better. You are completely removed from the outside world. Best place to relax.
