FamCamp Office MacDill AFB RV Park Reviews
MacDill Air Force Base fam camp is an outstanding value, family friendly, quiet, and picturesque Paradise. The regulars are friendly and the staff very helpful. We took advantage of the saver card and took a pontoon boat out for my birthday! It was cold, rainy and perfect.
Jan 23, 2024 · MelThe base and camp area is very nice. Shower is great. My wife said theveomans side was one of the nicest she's ever seen in a camp ground. We did cancel our stay, though.Coming from the swamps in Louisiana, this is the absolute worst I've ever seen mosquitoes. By far. Bring something extremely effective to abate them. Even opening the screen to just ingress and egress brought so many mosquitoes inside and terrible sleep 🤣
May 25, 2025 · Sean ForbesNo see-um bugs eat you up. Cable inoperative, Wi-Fi inoperative during my visit in late December. The washroom was decent, toilet overflowing and shut down for days. The washers were inoperative. The Famcamp staff in the office has 1 rude, condescending employee. The camp host was excellent! The sites are small and crowded. We found several state parks much more attractive for only a few dollars more.I like the area but won't return there again
Apr 13, 2025 · Rick AveryI think we found a new favorite place to go. Love the beach access. We are planning to go to a Tampa Bay Rays game. We went to Skyway bridge to fish. You can quickly access multiple beach locations. They rent boats at the marina on base. Access to the BX and Commisary. Walmart and Target close just outside the base. Multiple places to eat on base and off. Great people. Great location to everything.
May 25, 2025 · Mary WhiteMacDill is a beautiful AFB. Private beach, access to fishing right from the docks or beach. The camp is located at the furthest point in the park! But noting takes that long to get to. It’s a nice drive. This is it’s own city. Post office on base and mail delivered to the FamCamp post office. The camping area is close. Not much room between sites. Everyone seems very courteous about noise. No issues. Had to stay at a partial hook up site when we first got here. We over to a FHU spot after 2 days. Free cable, free use of mailbox, but there is a $20 deposit for the key, refunded when you turn it in. Unless you have reservations, you pay for 2 weeks at a time. There is an Annex campground, spacing is better there but it’s much further away from the beach and mailboxes. No campfires. Lots of birds. Catch blue crabs right off the beach. Beach is good size. Dog beach also. 5 stars would have been given if the spaces were so close together.Make sure you use the Main Gate at the round a bout. RVs of any size other than a van will be turned away.
