Camped for a week mid-July, wasn't packed and I got a great spot very close to the river. The sound of the water was mesmerizing. There was a trail down to a little rocky beach right on the water and the river is very wade-able. Pretty rocks.Biting flies, bring bug spray. Picnic tables and fire rings. Tons of tree cover. 20 minutes from town but feels very remote. 14 dollars a night. Vault toilets. - Amy Colette

Location and Accessibility

Dungeness Forks Campground is strategically located at NF-2880, Sequim, WA 98382, USA. This places it within the stunning Olympic National Forest, a region renowned for its diverse ecosystems and breathtaking landscapes. While the campground offers a distinctly remote feel, it is surprisingly accessible, situated approximately 20 minutes from the charming town of Sequim. This proximity to town allows campers to easily stock up on supplies or explore local attractions before fully immersing themselves in the wilderness experience.

The drive to Dungeness Forks Campground is often described as gorgeous, winding through forested areas that enhance the sense of anticipation for your natural escape. Access typically involves well-maintained forest roads. Visitors should be aware that while the drive is scenic, the "remote" feel extends to connectivity; there is no phone signal at the campground. This lack of connectivity is a significant feature for those truly looking to "get away from the world," as one reviewer noted, providing an opportunity for a complete digital detox. The campground's location by the Dungeness River is a major draw, offering easy access to the water for wading and exploring. Despite its secluded nature, the consistent presence of a maintenance person who visits daily to restock toilets and collect payments ensures the campground remains well-cared for. This balance of remoteness and attentive maintenance makes Dungeness Forks a practical and appealing choice for local campers in Washington seeking both solitude and convenience.
