Douglas Headwater Campgrounds Reviews
Stayed 3 nights at Douglas Headwaters Campground and absolutely enjoyed it. Very quiet, Has Beach, and beautiful SmokyMountain Views. But the bonus was the campground managers, April and Chuck. They went out of their way to help us with any need we had. They went above and beyond in my opinion, a rare thing these days.Would stay there again in a heartbeat! Thanks April and Chuck!Larry and Konnie
Apr 30, 2025 · Larry GilbertI'm not sure if this is a hidden gem or if we just got lucky because we called the day off and slid right into spot number 51, backing right up to the water, with 30a power and electric. Price was a bit more than I expected at around $50 but I guess that's the going rate for campgrounds like this these days. Highly recommend, we'll be back.
May 25, 2025 · West BielsteinSites are gravel. Some level, some not so level. No sewer. Water and electric only. Hosts/workers very nice and accommodating. Can buy firewood on site. We stayed in site 31 for 7 days, it is a bit un-level. But if you back in correctly you can minimize it. Big site. Has a fire ring and charcol Grill. Shaded. Front of site is downhill. They offer a "gray" or "blue" boy tank. I used my own. They also offer dump service ($20) where they will come empty your tanks and haul it it to the dump station. As most have said, the dump site is entered the wrong way IMO. But I had no problem getting in or out of it. Restrooms are so-so. One of them is shared with the day use area. The other one is just for the loop and has a shower/restroom that is all yours once you are in there. They clean them several times a day. Pigeon Forge is about 30Mins away. Easy access if it isn't tourist season. We camped at Douglas Dam Headwater Campground in a Travel Trailer.
May 10, 2025 · Alex McGaughGreat campground close to all the attractions in Gatlinburg/Sevierville. Big rig friendly. Swimming and picnic area within the park, but otherwise limited amenities that aren't really needed this close to town. Great cell signal.
May 01, 2025 · Becky IIf you haven’t noticed, government speak for the so called homeless is called non recreational campers, if they’re adjacent to your overpriced camping site, you may also be financially subsidizing their stay at your favorite campground. The TVA campgrounds in Tennessee uses a third party company known as Vista, who charges a fee in addition to the cost of the site, and Vista use a forth party-Campspot to book your site, also for a fee.You won’t get your 50% senior pass discount either, it’ll be a fraction of that. All this, to be next to a group of non recreational campers with no means of support, no transportation, no camping equipment, just bags of trash, shopping carts and a dog. After many years of camping at the Douglas Lake Headwaters campground near Sevierville, I will not be returning.Research this national trend to learn more.
