Dixieland Campground is situated at 1620 Pembroke-Fairview Rd, Pembroke, KY 42266, USA. Pembroke is a small community located in Christian County, Kentucky, in the western part of the state. This location offers a peaceful, rural setting, providing campers with a tranquil escape from urban bustle, while still maintaining convenient access to larger towns and military installations.
The campground's strategic position makes it highly accessible for both local Kentuckians and those traveling through. It's described as being "a little drive out," but the "views driving out are gorgeous," hinting at the scenic rural roads leading to the property. More importantly, Dixieland Campground is "not far from Hopkinsville, KY, Clarksville, TN or Ft Campbell, KY." This proximity is particularly beneficial for military personnel and their families, or contractors working in the area, offering a convenient and pleasant place to stay.
Hopkinsville, a larger city in Kentucky, provides access to a wider range of shopping centers, grocery stores, dining options, and essential services. Clarksville, Tennessee, just across the state line, offers even more extensive amenities and attractions. Furthermore, the area surrounding Pembroke is rich in natural beauty and cultural experiences. Guests are "not far from the Mennonites whose products they sell are fresh, super good and cheap," providing a unique local experience. Nearby attractions mentioned by the campground's presence on Hipcamp include Lake Malone State Park, Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park, and Lake Barkley State Resort Park, all offering additional opportunities for outdoor recreation such as hiking, fishing, and boating. This blend of rural tranquility and convenient access to diverse amenities makes Dixieland Campground a well-situated choice for various types of campers.
Dixieland Campground aims to provide essential services to ensure a comfortable stay for its RV guests. Based on the information available and common offerings in private campgrounds, the services include:
- Full Hookup RV Sites: The campground offers full hookup sites, which typically include 30 and 50 AMP electrical services, water, and sewer connections. This is a significant convenience for RVers, ensuring a comfortable stay.
- Spacious Sites: Reviews mention "plenty of room between RV’s," indicating that sites are not cramped, providing guests with a greater sense of privacy and space.
- Optional Laundry Services: While one review noted concerns about the quality and cost of the laundry machines, the availability of optional laundry services is a convenient amenity for long-term campers.
- Gated Access: The campground is described as a "private gated RV campground," which enhances security and provides a greater sense of safety for guests and their belongings.
- On-Site Management: Andy, the owner, is actively involved, "always asking tenants how things are going to make sure everyone is satisfied" and is "always upgrading the property." This hands-on approach contributes to a well-maintained environment and responsive service.
- Daily and Monthly Rates: The campground offers flexible booking options with both daily and monthly rates, accommodating various stay durations, from short visits to extended periods for work or leisure.
- Wildlife and Natural Scenery: The presence of ponds, ducks, geese, and deer, along with "beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife," indicates a commitment to preserving the natural environment and offering unique interactions with farm animals and local fauna.
Dixieland Campground offers several distinctive features that make it a notable choice for RVers in Kentucky. While some areas of concern are also present in reviews, a balanced perspective highlights the following:
- Private Gated RV Campground: The private and gated nature of the campground is a significant highlight, offering enhanced security and peace of mind for guests.
- Working Farm Environment: This unique feature provides a distinctive camping experience, with residents enjoying the presence of farm animals like "5 ducks and goose" and deer walking through sites. This creates a charming rural atmosphere.
- Dedicated and Responsive Owner (Andy): Multiple reviews praise Andy, the owner, for being "awesome," "friendly," and consistently striving to ensure tenant satisfaction. His proactive approach to "upgrading the property" is also a significant positive.
- Spacious, Full Hookup Sites: The availability of full hookup sites with "plenty of room between RV’s" and "beautiful views" enhances the comfort and enjoyment of the camping experience, allowing for personal space and scenic surroundings.
- Beautiful Views and Abundant Wildlife: Guests appreciate the "gorgeous" views and the presence of "wildlife," contributing to a serene and natural setting, ideal for those seeking an escape into nature.
- Proximity to Local Amenities and Military Bases: Its convenient location near Hopkinsville, Clarksville, and Fort Campbell makes it highly suitable for military personnel, contractors, or those wanting access to larger town amenities while enjoying a rural setting. The nearby Mennonite community offers unique local products.
- Long-Term Stay Friendly: The option for extended stays, noted by a reviewer who stayed for several months, indicates the campground's suitability for long-term residents and those on temporary work assignments.
However, it is crucial to present a balanced view and acknowledge the concerns raised in one review:
- Animal Noise and Droppings: The presence of roosters and geese, while contributing to the farm atmosphere, can lead to early morning noise and "goose droppings at your doorstep" by the pond, along with a "stale pond smell." This indicates that while charming for some, it might not be ideal for light sleepers or those sensitive to farm odors.
- Laundry Room Issues: The laundry room was described as "filthy" with "money hungry" dryers and washers that leave clothes dirtier, suggesting a need for maintenance or upgrade in this area.
- Strict/Potentially Unfair Contract Terms: A significant financial concern was raised regarding a $1100 payment at the beginning, which acts as a non-refundable deposit if a guest decides not to stay beyond the initial two-week trial period before signing a two-month agreement. This policy could be a source of stress and financial loss for some.

This hands-on management approach fosters a sense of trust and community, making it a place where many would "highly recommend" and "stay again." For those in the Hopkinsville, Clarksville, or Fort Campbell areas, its convenient proximity offers an ideal location for both short getaways and longer-term housing solutions, especially for military families or contractors seeking stable lodging.
However, locals considering Dixieland Campground should be aware of the "working farm" aspects, including potential noise from roosters and geese, and the need to manage goose droppings near pond-side sites. While these are part of the unique farm experience for some, they might be a drawback for others. The reported issues with laundry facilities and the upfront payment policy should also be thoroughly clarified before committing. Ultimately, for Kentuckians who value a well-maintained, secure, and friendly campground with a unique rural setting and responsive management, and who are prepared for the quirks of farm life, Dixieland Campground offers a truly memorable "home away from home" experience in the heart of the Commonwealth.

Dixieland Campground Reviews
Owners are friendly for the money but that’s where it stops. Make sure you want roosters waking you up in the morning and geese keeping you up at night. If you’re staying by the pond prepare yourself to clean up the goose droppings at your doorstep and the stale pond smell. You have 2 weeks to decide if you wish to stay before you sign a 2 month agreement AND if you don’t stay the 1100 you gave him at the beginning will take place of the 2 weeks if you decide not to stay. No money returned. Laundry room is filthy with dryers that are as money hungry as the owner. As for the washers, your clothes were cleaner before you used them.
Apr 24, 2025 · andrea leeMy wife and I have camped all over Tennessee, Florida and the up the East Coast as far as Pennsylvania. This campground is a gem and the top of our favorite campground list. This is a private gated RV campground on a working farm. The sites are full hook up with plenty of room between RV’s. The views are beautiful with wildlife. The 5 ducks and goose were awesome. And live on the ponds on the farm. Andy, the owner is awesome. He is always asking tenants how things are going to make sure everyone is satisfied. He is always upgrading the property. We stayed there from January 11th 2023 to April 9th 2023. Its a little drive out to the campground but the views driving out are gorgeous and your not far from the Mennonites whose products they sell are fresh, super good and cheap. We are gonna miss that. Your also not far from Hopkinsville Ky, Clarksville Tn or Ft Campbell Ky. We highly recommend this campground and if we are ever back in the area we will stay again. Thanks Andy!

The space is great! Has everything you need. It’s quiet & the spots have little privacy fences! There’s also a pond! We will be back! This is our new favorite hidden gem!
