Tucked away in the serene Stanislaus National Forest, just a stone's throw from Yosemite National Park's Big Oak Flat entrance and the magnificent Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, Dimond O offers an authentic and quiet camping experience that truly allows you to disconnect and embrace the great outdoors.
Dimond O Campground is an ideal base camp for exploring the wonders of the High Sierra. It's renowned for its tranquil atmosphere, making it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, whether you're traveling with family in a campervan or seeking solitude in a tent. Many visitors praise the campground for its welcoming environment and the exceptionally kind and helpful hosts who go above and beyond to provide recommendations and tips, enhancing your entire trip. While it offers a more rustic experience without all the bells and whistles of some modern resorts, its core appeal lies in its natural setting and unparalleled proximity to some of California's most breathtaking landscapes. Imagine waking up to the fresh mountain air, surrounded by towering trees and the gentle sounds of the Middle Fork of the Tuolumne River nearby – that's the Dimond O experience.
Dimond O Campground is strategically located at Evergreen Rd, Groveland, CA 95321, USA. This puts it in an incredibly advantageous position for Californians eager to explore Yosemite National Park. It's often cited as the closest campground outside of Yosemite's Big Oak Flat entrance, making daily trips into the park considerably easier than from many other surrounding areas. Furthermore, its proximity to the less-crowded but equally stunning Hetch Hetchy Reservoir offers an incredible alternative for hiking, sightseeing, and experiencing Yosemite's grandeur away from the main valley crowds.
Reaching Dimond O Campground from across California is straightforward. From major California cities, a scenic drive through the Sierra Nevada foothills will lead you to Groveland, and then a short journey on Evergreen Road brings you directly to the campground. Dimond O Campground Reviews
We stayed here for three nights in May with our rented Campervan and it was such a beautiful and quiet campground! Surrounded by beautiful nature and close to Yosemite and Hetch Hetchy (totally recommend going there, way less tourists, stunning views, also getting soaked by Wapama falls was an incredible experience), it was a lovely getaway. The hosts were the absolute best, incredibly kind and helpful and they gave us lots of recommendations and tips that made our trip even greater! If ever in the area, I would definitely come back!
Jun 30, 2025 · Sophia FeigenbutzWell this camp ground is a great location and the hosts could not have been more helpful and kind. Unfortunately there was some sort of plumbing issue and we had to walk quite a ways to be able to wash our dishes. The bathrooms were stark but amazingly clean. Note there are no showers or sinks for dishwashing so plan accordingly.
Dec 04, 2024 · Mlle. LupitaWell run Great manager the cleanest pit toilets I have ever seen
Jun 25, 2025 · Cynthia ten HaafA beautiful campground next to the river. They have large camping spots for big families.
Jun 03, 2025 · Aditi SharmaI drove 6 hours from Los Angeles in the early morning to get a first come first serve spot. I was lucky and found a spot for me and my friends. The sign clearly said available. I paid $33 a night, then we went to Yosemite Park. In the morning, when we got back, the manager was waiting for us and then it seems she is racist, she kicked us out of the place because she claims someone else was already there when clearly there was no one. That person was her friend. I guess she told us we weren't welcome and that we had half an hour to leave, because if not, the police would kick us out. I think people like that have no criteria or education, and are also racists, bitter with life, they shouldn't work in places of natural and familiar habitat.
