This is a beautiful camping spot- but beware! You can get a site with plenty of shade or *none* - not all sites are created equally! It looks like they mow the tent areas daily. There’s a darling curiosity trail that goes along the grounds that my kids loved, and they loved playing in the water. In late June the water was high enough that we always had an adult with them, though. There’s a hike nearby to some hot springs that was fabulous, but we left at 6:30am to avoid the heat of the day when we went. It gets crowded. You can buy wood from the host, which is great! In late June it got to 40/50ish at night and we were cold and had to add blankets, but it wasn’t terrible. The toilets were pretty full when we went, it sure stinks by them. The biggest annoyance was actually the $@&! cows! They are free range, we chased them away a lot. They pooped diarrhea all over and were LOUD - sometimes I don’t think those cows were breathing, just continuously mooing. They went right through camp and rubbed up against our tents if no one was right there. There are snakes, but we only saw harmless ones. The most crazy thing was that there were no mosquitoes that I saw, and no mice/squirrels/chipmunks stealing food! That’s usually such a problem! - Sheri Mueller
