Deer Park Campground

Campground ★4.0

Ten Sleep, WY 82442, USA

4.0
Very lovely spot in the woods. Would have been perfectly quiet if the neighbors hadn't used a generator all day. There is plenty if deer in the meadows, squirrels with pinecone collections everywhere. Be careful they launch them and they hurt when they hit you. We had spot #3 there is lots of sap from trees. The terrain is nice in the spot but the tree roots are showing and in many spots the ground is uneven. Behind our site there was a small hike up a hill where someone built a log fort. We cleaned up a lot of the trash left prior and left our site best it could be, most of it pictured is when we packed up how we left it. Very close to the bathrooms. all Gravel roads. easy outhouse access even for handicap. For those who enjoy the park, you are not alone. Please be courteous of your generators as they are loud next to the road running late. Some folk sleep at 8/9pm to get early starts. Out neighbors were unfortunately not very neighborly running more than 1 campsite with a generator. But I won't let that take away what these sites have to hold for the next person. I hope a host is able to take over this campground soon as many at night seem to think the rules don't apply to them when nobody is looking. Dogs were not leashed and nobody cleaned up after them when they ran around pooping in our site and marking everything. - Christina Currie

This campground provides a lovely spot in the woods, with a natural setting that is both peaceful and engaging. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in the natural world, surrounded by tall trees and the sounds of the forest. The campground is known for its quiet atmosphere and its sense of being a secluded hideaway, even when it is full. Its charm lies in its simplicity, providing a clean and well-maintained base camp from which to explore the vast and rugged beauty of the Bighorn Mountains. For those who appreciate a less-developed environment and a chance to truly unplug, Deer Park is an ideal choice.

The campground's design and natural features contribute to a very pleasant stay. The campsites are widely spaced, often with natural brush providing a sense of privacy from neighboring campers. This allows for a more intimate and secluded experience, as noted by a visitor who appreciated the brush for privacy. While the terrain of some sites may be uneven with exposed tree roots, this is a natural part of the setting and a testament to the authentic, undeveloped feel of the area. Deer and squirrels are frequent visitors, adding to the wildlife viewing opportunities. The campground’s commitment to providing a clean environment is highlighted by the reviews mentioning that the public restrooms are kept clean, which is a significant factor in a comfortable stay. Deer Park Campground is a perfect destination for families and individuals who want to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the Wyoming wilderness.

Deer Park Campground is located near Ten Sleep, WY 82442, USA, situated in the high country of Bighorn National Forest at an elevation of 8,900 feet.
