May 31, 2025 · R BrowningWhat a sweet spot. Boaters, campers haven. I believe a few sites actually have boat access! The bath houses are basic, well kept and the showers, three stalls, are hot. Walk to the “beach” or take a short drive over to a beach also within the park grounds. They have beach, playground and restrooms. The campsites are well divided with trees and brush. I believe they all have some amount of shade as this is a wooded area. Hard to believe you’re so close urban life out here. Grocery, restaurants all 20 minutes away. Find gas and fully stocked mart lass than 5 minutes drive. But be ready to pay for convenience!I highly recommend reserving in advance as I did not and the gate personnel did not arrive until 2pm that day. I later discovered reservations can be made at Reserve America day of arrival.
May 07, 2025 · Nanette JanulisNice quiet campground. We stayed in loop c. Fishing was good. Campsite had power and water connections. Bathhouse was clean. Camp host was nice, helpful and informative.
Jun 10, 2025 · barry boylesWe camped here for a long weekend getaway from Virginia Beach. It is a well kept campground with spacious sites and offering many buddy/duplex sites as well so you can camp with your friends close by if you wish. We could see the lake even though we were not camping right on the lake in site C33. Bathhouse is clean and well kept, staff was friendly and very helpful. Dump station area is large and accommodating for rigs of all sizes when needed. There was a good amount of rain at some point during the afternoon or evening each day we were there but our site did not hold water. We plan to go back sometime!
