Country Campground Reviews
We have been on the road for almost 10 weeks and have been to 30 campgrounds. This Campground is by far our favorite. It is absolutely perfect and welcoming. The host was so friendly and she even bakes Sourdough bread and sells it for $10 a loaf which is a steal. Everything is clean and it’s quiet and we would love to return someday.
Jul 03, 2025 · Debbie BryanWill not be staying here again. The owners are very nice people but have a limited understanding of what is expected at a “full service”, “dog friendly” campground. The site is only marginally dog friendly. There are TWO(!) fenced children’s play areas but no fenced dog area. Owners ask elderly traveling without children and with pets to walk dogs OFF PROPERTY approximately 350yards rather than accommodate them. Loss of one star for that. This is the only campground I have stayed in on my cross country trip to not offer a military discount. Okay. It’s their business; they can run it how they want, but that seems off putting when you consider that retirees are a large portion of the RV public. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE OWNER IS FORMER MILITARY!Most annoying, bathrooms/shower rooms were mysteriously locked from 9pm until after 9:30a the following morning when I finally gave up and showered in my camper. With a mandatory checkout time of 11a, it would have been nice to take a shower and not have to rush around to leave on time, or be forced to pump gray/black water twice. Additionally, the previous night I noticed that there was no shower curtain and no way to lock the door from the inside in the men’s shower/bathroom.On my next trip I won’t be back.
May 13, 2025 · The Real DealStayed 1 night in a 45' Class A. We wish our schedule allowed us to stay longer. 2 days before our arrival, Karen texted me and asked if we wanted fresh homemade sourdough bread. We got two loaves and asked if Karen could make one with thyme & garlic. Awesome bread!Site was huge with good water pressure and fast & reliable WiFi. We have two large dogs and they ran off lease on the trail in the back corner of the property with no issues. Highly recommend Country Campground.
Jun 22, 2025 · Jim GilpinWe selected this campground just as a couple of night stay to break up what otherwise would have been a very long leg. Wow are we glad we did!It turned out to be a lovely, family friendly campground. We stayed on site #25, Pull-through FHU 50/30/20, water, sewer. Gravel pad, concrete patio with picnic table, fire ring. Almost perfectly level - no issues auto-leveling with just the levelers. Standard angled parallel with good spacing between sites. There is no road noise, but there is a train track within sight and the train, and the train horn, can be heard throughout the day and night. It was not a problem for us, just something to be aware of.Big rig friendly. Clean. Wonderful owners. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.Tip:One of the owners, Todd, escorted us to the site. He came by to chat while I was setting up. In the conversation, he asked if we knew about the Trolls. It turns out, there is a major installation of Thomas Dambo's Forest Trolls in Detroit Lakes with a total of six (five "regular" and one "special") Trolls. They are really cool, and totally worth the time to see.
Dec 27, 2024 · David SandersWhat a great campground near Detroit lakes. This is generational owned and the pride shows.Extremely clean sites and restrooms. There's a laundry area for us weary travelers. There's a mini trail, dogs are allowed and a huge recreational cabin with games, books and a great screened on porch. As a horrible sleeper I frequently used this cabin so I didn't bother my neighbors.Great place. Thank you for letting me stay.Nancie NewmanQuiet and peaceful
