Country Acres Campground & Fun Park Introduce
Country Acres Campground & Fun Park, located in Ravenna, Ohio, aims to offer a blend of outdoor relaxation and family-friendly entertainment. Situated on 41 acres of countryside around a 5-acre fishing lake, this privately owned campground features over 210 spacious sites, catering to a variety of camping styles including RVs, tents, and even cabin and cottage rentals. The vision for Country Acres is to be a clean, friendly, and family-oriented environment where Ohioans can escape the daily hustle and bustle.
While recent customer experiences indicate some challenges with site navigation, electrical issues, and maintenance of certain amenities, the campground's established presence and stated mission suggest an ongoing effort to provide a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Descriptions from various sources highlight features like a swimming pool, game room, and planned weekend activities, all designed to keep campers engaged. For Ohio locals looking for a campground with a mix of traditional camping and recreational features, Country Acres Campground & Fun Park offers a range of options, particularly for those seeking a lively, activity-filled environment. It's a place where, despite some reported bumps in the road, the potential for a memorable family getaway remains, especially with continuous improvements and dedicated management.
Country Acres Campground & Fun Park is located at 9850 Minyoung Rd, Ravenna, OH 44266, USA. This address places it in Portage County, in Northeast Ohio. Ravenna is a well-established city, providing a balance of accessibility from larger metropolitan areas and a relatively serene, rural setting for the campground itself.
Minyoung Road is a local road that leads directly to the campground. For Ohio residents traveling from cities like Cleveland, Akron, or Youngstown, Ravenna is typically reached via major state routes and highways, making the journey to Country Acres fairly straightforward. The campground's website mentions that it is situated on a quiet country road, contributing to the peaceful atmosphere once you arrive.
However, some recent customer feedback indicates that navigation within the campground, especially for larger RVs, can be challenging due to narrow roads, dips, and tightly spaced trees. Directional signs within the park have also been noted as potentially unclear. This suggests that while getting to the general area of Ravenna is easy, guests with larger rigs, particularly those arriving after dark, should exercise extra caution and consider arriving during daylight hours to better navigate the internal layout. Despite these navigational nuances, the overall location offers a convenient escape to nature for many Ohioans, allowing for a camping experience not too far from home.
Country Acres Campground & Fun Park aims to provide a variety of services to enhance the camping experience for its guests, though some recent reviews indicate inconsistencies in their delivery.
- RV Sites: The campground offers over 210 sites, many of which are RV sites, including some pull-through options and sites that accommodate double slide-outs. They offer a range of electrical services from 20-amp up to 50-amp, along with water hookups. Some sites also include sewer hookups, while others might be electric and water only.
- Tent Sites: Dedicated tent sites are available for traditional campers.
- Cabin/Cottage/Camper Rentals: For those seeking a more comfortable stay, the campground offers various rental units including cabins, cottages, and even campers. These are noted to be separate from general RV/tent sites.
- Bathhouse/Restrooms: Shower facilities and restrooms are available. Recent feedback, however, suggests they may need updates and better maintenance.
- Laundry Center: A 24/7 laundry center is available for guests, a useful amenity for longer stays.
- Dump Station: A sanitary dump station is on-site for RV waste disposal, though one review mentioned issues with the spigot.
- Swimming Pool & Kiddie Pool: The campground features a main swimming pool and a separate kiddie pool. Guest experiences note these may be closed on weekdays or for maintenance without clear communication.
- 5-Acre Fishing Lake: A central feature of the campground is its 5-acre fishing lake. Recent reviews mention issues with algae making it unfishable, though historically it has been promoted for fishing.
- Game Room: A game room is available, though some machines may be out of order and there might be no on-site coin machine.
- Snack Bar/Camp Store: A snack bar and camp store are typically available for basic necessities and refreshments, though their operating hours may vary.
- Planned Weekend Activities: The campground frequently organizes planned weekend activities, including kids' crafts, themed weekends (e.g., Bigfoot Weekend, Prom Night, Christmas in July), tram rides, and bingo.
- Pet-Friendly: Pets are generally welcome, with policies regarding leashing and waste disposal.
- Wi-Fi: Free Wi-Fi service is advertised, but connectivity can be inconsistent, especially in wooded areas.
- LP Gas: Propane (LP) gas is available by meter.
- Pavilion: A pavilion with a kitchen, accommodating up to 150 people, is available for rallies, reunions, and company picnics.
Country Acres Campground & Fun Park highlights a range of features designed for a family-oriented camping experience, despite some reported challenges in their execution.
- 5-Acre Fishing Lake: The campground is centered around a 5-acre fishing lake, offering picturesque views and the potential for angling, though recent feedback suggests issues with water quality.
- Heated Swimming Pool & Kiddie Pool: These pools are a major draw for families, providing a dedicated space for swimming and cooling off, especially during warmer Ohio months.
- Variety of Accommodations: With over 210 sites including RV, tent, cabin, cottage, and camper rentals, the campground aims to cater to diverse preferences and comfort levels.
- Family-Friendly Activities: The Fun Park aspect implies a focus on entertainment. Regularly planned weekend activities such as themed events, kids' crafts, hayrides, and games like bingo are a significant highlight for families.
- Seasonal Sites Available: For Ohioans looking for a longer-term stay or a consistent weekend getaway spot, seasonal sites are offered.
- Shaded Sites: Many sites benefit from trees and provide ample shade, a desirable feature during hot summer days.
- Game Room: An on-site game room provides indoor entertainment, particularly useful during inclement weather.
- Proximity to Local Attractions: While offering activities on-site, its Ravenna location places it within reach of other Northeast Ohio attractions like West Branch State Park, Quail Hollow State Park, and Tinkers Creek State Nature Preserve, expanding outdoor exploration options.
- Dog Park: A dedicated dog park allows furry family members to exercise and play off-leash.
- Jumping Pillow/Bounce Pads: These popular inflatable attractions offer energetic fun for children.
It's important for visitors to note recent feedback regarding the inconsistent operation of some amenities (e.g., splash pad/kiddie pool closed on weekdays, main pool closed for maintenance) and the need for maintenance in certain areas (e.g., pond algae, shower house). However, the breadth of intended features suggests a commitment to providing a full-service recreational environment.

Country Acres Campground & Fun Park Reviews
We arrived late around 11:00 p.m., so didn't expect that there would be any staff there. Campground is pitch black, sites are not mark very well, and very muddy. The 50 amp, the 30 amp, and the 120 GFI plug didn't worked. I messed around forever in with that. Decided to plug into the campground next to ours The only thing that worked on that post was the 120 GFi. I got hold of someone at the front desk the next morning. The person that answered the phone sounded pretty young and have no knowledge of campground. She sent the manager down to talk to me, her name was Susan. I explain the frustration to her about the electrical issues, and also how they never should expected someone to back into this camping spot with a 41 ft fifth wheel ( I pulled in straight I had no other choice ). She said she would have somebody come there by 2:00, we waited until 3:00 and nobody showed up. We got back that evening right when the office was closing, we found that nobody had been at a campsite to correct the problem?? When I went to the temporary office the door was locked because they were getting ready to leave. I was able to speak to someone, and then see that Susan was on the phone calling maintenance? At this point I felt like she never contacted anybody that morning. She told me someone would be right there, at 9:30 nobody had showed up still .We left the next morning very disappointed. Being there it was very hard to navigate through the campground, terrible directional signs, we ended up on a real narrow road that we couldn't pass through because there was a dip in the road and we would bottom out. So had to turn around which was not an easy task to do. Lots of trees to maneuver around. Fortunately we had about three people helping us getting turned around, which took about 15 or 20 times back and forth to get turned around. Come to to find out the two of these guys our maintenance at the campground ,and told me they never received a call at all. One of them went over and checked our campsite and said there was power?? I guarantee you there was no power there the night we pulled in, I was out there changing chords around until 2:00 a.m.. I would highly recommend avoiding the campground.
Jun 13, 2025 · BRIAN DonovanWill not be returning for future visits.Pond is full algae, unfishable.Stayed in poplar point, the water smelled badly of sewage, could smell it the whole time. Mentioned it and they said everyone else was complaining about it too. So I don't think we were the only ones. Keepers said that it should be resolved by that afternoon and it wasn't for the rest of our stay. Not allowed change air conditioning in sunroom, luckily, the air conditioning from the original trailer was enough after a few hours to get things cooler. You have to keep all the doors open though, no privacy.Splash pad & kiddie pool closed seemingly on weekdays.Unfortunately during our stay, one of the cabins weren't watching their children and the one child defecated in the pool and we weren't able to use it the rest of the weekend.Bring lighter, stove is gas, ignition doesn't work.OVEN doesn't work.Office Manager had me check for coin machine down at game room (I also checked laundry area) which doesn't exist, we were going to use it to do laundry/games. Glad we didn't (keep reading) they offered but didn't have quarters at the office. Two game machines out of five are out of order. One machine didn't have an indication as to how many coins, doesn't matter anyway we didn't play.Pool closed on Saturday at 5pm for maintenance "things" Aaccording to clerk when we called the office. It wasn't reopen on Sunday but it was raining anyway.Pedal carts and paddle boats no longer available.Spigot at dump station has a plastic spraying handle that gets you wet more than whatever you're spraying out. Multiple leaks.Pro:trees/shade at sites, they had a nice gentleman who led by tractor for the open car ride. Also met another nice keeper on a golf cart.Con:Apparently this place was taken over last year by multiple investors. The original owners no longer take care of this property. It doesn't seem cared for it's just a money-maker as long as it can be anyway.
Jun 09, 2025 · Ran HI didn't know what to expect because of the mixed reviews, but we loved our stay! Nice, quiet, well kept. No sewer smell. Golf cart I reserved when booking worked great, kids loved the playground and jump pad. Trick or treat event was so fun. Alot of campers passed out candy and my kids had a blast. Office staff was kind and welcoming. I have nothing negative to say. We will definitely be back next year!
Oct 15, 2024 · Makenze LuskThis was our first time staying at the campground. The grounds were nice and kept up with. There was no noticeable smell of sewage. The only reason I’d give it 4 stars is we had an issue with our campsite which the general manager worked very hard to correct. It did take us a little while to fix but the accommodations were worth the wait. The kids had a lot of fun. We will be looking into another visit to the campgrounds.
Jul 28, 2024 · Steven CunninghamTent camped here for Labor Day weekend with our kids. Our kids enjoyed the pool, bounce houses/jumping pad, and fishing. Other than that, everything was broken/not available...splash pad for the kids was shut down for our whole stay along with the snack bar, the billiard room was "claimed" by a large group both nights, most machines in the game room were out of order, and we really wanted to rent a paddle boat...but the employee at the office where you rent them said they are all broken and can't be rented. In other words, don't base your stay off of what the website says they offer. Also, the campsite had an extremely bright street light shining on our campsite all night that made it very hard for us to sleep, enjoy the fire or see the stars 😞 Shower room only has two showers that I saw and it smelled SO bad in there, I didn't bother showering. Thankfully, this was our first time camping with our kids, so they didn't know what they were missing compared to other camps 😆 oh well. Wouldn't recommend, unfortunately
