What is worth choosing?
Choosing Cottonwood Campground for your next Idaho adventure is a decision you won't regret. Its blend of essential services, family-friendly atmosphere, and natural beauty makes it a top choice for anyone looking to get away. The campground's strong emphasis on accessibility, with its wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking, sets it apart as a welcoming destination for all. The fact that it is dog-friendly means you don't have to leave your beloved pets behind, adding to the overall convenience and enjoyment of your trip.
While some online reviews mention the reeds blocking the lake view from certain campsites and the strict enforcement of fire rules, these are minor considerations when weighed against the campground's many benefits. The fire restrictions, for example, are a necessary safety measure, especially during the dry summer months, and are enforced for the protection of all campers and the surrounding environment. It's a small trade-off for the peace of mind that comes with a safe camping experience.
The campground's ownership by Idaho Power ensures that it is well-maintained and professionally managed. This oversight often leads to a more organized and predictable camping experience compared to unmanaged public lands. The fees are reasonable and contribute directly to the upkeep of the facilities, ensuring that the campground remains a clean and enjoyable place for years to come.
Ultimately, Cottonwood Campground offers a valuable and authentic Idaho experience. It provides a clean, safe, and beautiful setting for a range of activities, from a quiet weekend of tent camping to a full RV hookup trip. It's a place where you can truly relax, fish, and enjoy the simple pleasures of the outdoors. Its reputation as a great camping spot with beautiful views and excellent fishing opportunities, as noted by visitors, makes it a highly recommended choice for your next outdoor escape.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My wife and I made reservations for $20 a night, but with a $7 fee for online reservations. We didn't know that computers need to be paid for wages! The view is beautiful when coming into the campground, but the (8-9 ft easily) reeds along the lake block the lake view and prevent any fishing from lakeside campsites. From July on, no campfires or charcoal grills are allowed and are strictly enforced. Only propane cooking is allowed. The campground is owned by Idaho Power, who set the rules, not by BLM.
September 22 · Mario ChesserI loved it caught a lot of fish great camping spot would recommend
July 13 · Ayden MayWonderful camping spot! Fishing from the bank wasn't good though. Will definitely come again though!
September 27 · Jake BowersCampground is nice if you enjoy generators running all night long. They definitely don't enforce quiet hours. Sheriff is on the way to enforce them now but I won't be back. Generators are the worst thing about Campground camping, not worth spending money to hear a damned engine running all night. But you better not bring an atv...
November 02 · Matt HopkinsOnly used the bathroom but looked nice. I'm sure it's nicer in the summer.
