★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Great place to see the stars. Super dark at night. Gets busy on the weekends so get there early. Please keep in mind that people come here to enjoy the dark skies. Please be considerate and use red lights and don’t drive around after dark.It was great having a toilet available. Very clean. Campsites are a very nice size with fire pit and picnic table. Main gravel road in was well maintained.
April 03 · SteveI spent 2 nights and 3 days here in February 2025 during a warm snap. It was very quiet and most enjoyable in the morning before the wind picked up. The nights were calm and cool with an unimpeded view of the stars and planets in the dark night sky. I saw only birds but could hear other creatures calling in the distance.I was disappointed at the trash left by others so I spent some time picking up trash that I brought out to dispose of. Don't litter or these free camping options will be shut down. Prepare to pack out your trash. The toilet paper left clinging to the mesquite bushes was disgusting and unappreciated. There's a vault toilet to dispose of that before you leave. It was gross. Pack it out.
February 07 · Sue BWas just there 3/28/25-3/30/25 it was pretty clear skies, but the wind picked up in the afternoon and into the evening. Had our two dane mixes with us, no water, or dumping. Only a restroom. Had fire pits and tables at the designated sites. Everyone was respectful of the lights out time, and the red lights only late at night for optimal viewing. Photos from my Samsung s25 phone. Went to the catwalk during the day, bring shoes for your dogs on the actual catwalk.
April 01 · Amber GriegoGreat place to spend a few nights and look at the stars! Super dark outside and very very quiet! The road in is easy, a little washboarded but nothing unmanageable. Around 6 spaces but plent y of boondocking sites surrounding it of all the spaces are taken. No trash cans, pack in pack out!Bathrooms are super clean!Rangers drove by every few days.
April 25 · Karson WilsonSeveral back in spots here with picnic tables and fire pits. Good size area for tents. Road leading up to it was in good shape and easy to navigate. Bathrooms were regularly cleaned. Everyone here seemed pretty respectful of one another in regards to avoiding light pollution to enjoy the night time sky. It got fairly windy at times swaying our rig, but otherwise it's a nice spot!
