Clints Well Campground Introduce
Tucked away in the serene ponderosa pine forest of the Coconino National Forest, Clints Well Campground is a well-maintained and quiet escape for those seeking a true high-country experience. This campground offers a peaceful alternative to larger, more crowded sites, with a focus on a simple, well-kept environment. It’s an ideal spot for tent campers and those with smaller travel trailers or pod campers who want to immerse themselves in nature without the fuss of a massive, crowded facility. The atmosphere is one of tranquility and natural beauty, making it a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the cooler temperatures of northern Arizona. The fact that the campground is located in a stand of tall, old-growth ponderosas adds to its timeless charm and rustic appeal.
Clints Well Campground is located on National Forest Road Route 3, in the broader area of Flagstaff, AZ 86024, USA. Its location is a major benefit, as it provides a convenient base for exploring a variety of nearby attractions while still feeling secluded. Situated near the junction of two major roads that provide access to the vast National Forest lands, it offers a great balance of accessibility and remoteness. A short drive from the campground leads you to the scenic Mogollon Rim, the dramatic two-thousand-foot drop-off that marks the southern limit of the Colorado Plateau. It is also within easy driving distance of a number of forest lakes, which are known for their excellent fishing. While the campground is situated near a road, one reviewer notes that the sound "won't wreck the weekend," indicating that it is noticeable but not overly disruptive. On-site parking is available, though it's important to note that spaces are on the smaller side, making it perfect for tents and smaller vehicles.
The services at Clints Well Campground are designed for a comfortable, though minimalist, camping experience.
Restrooms: The campground offers public restrooms which are noted in reviews as being "very clean." This is a significant plus, as a clean restroom can make a huge difference in the overall camping experience.

On-Site Parking: On-site parking is available at each campsite, which is convenient for keeping your vehicle close. It is worth repeating that these parking areas are small, so visitors with large travel trailers should plan accordingly.
Dogs Allowed: The campground is a pet-friendly location, which means you can bring your dogs along to enjoy the beautiful scenery with you, as long as they are leashed.
Clints Well Campground is highly regarded for several key features and highlights that contribute to its charm.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place was absolutely perfect. Clean and well maintained little campground with large camping area. Parking at your campsite is small so do not plan to bring a large travel trailer here but this is perfect for a small teardrop or pod camper or tents. Camp host Rodney was incredible, friendly and knowledgeable. Came and greeted us after we were settled in. Great place to kick back with a nice little store just down the road close enough to ride a bike. Restrooms were very clean however there are people that walk over from BLM land to use the bathrooms when its busy. The road along side the campground is noticeable but it won't wreck the weekend. Overall a great place to stay. We spent 4 nights and they were all exactly what we wanted.
May 27 · BenSolid campground with fire pits, picnic tables, and level ground with loose enough dirt to drive stakes into easily. Didn’t end up staying the night due to bad vibes from the van parked at the Host spot. We never saw who was occupying the van, but if they were an actual host it would’ve been nice if they had greeted us or something so that we could know that they weren’t a serial killer.
March 10 · Izzy AzarGreat site for novice campers. The camp ground is very clean and well kept. The bathrooms are very clean. Very limited number of sites but hat made for a very peaceful stay. $8 per day fee for up to 14 days. The only downfall is it is right off a road that is pretty busy during the day so you get a lot of traffic noise.Overall, I would stay here again.
July 07 · Sonja WernerClean, quiet and with enormous campsites; not bad for $8 per night! Only 7 sites, and far away enough from any towns (without being too far at all, really) that you're out of the noise and craziness. Great place if you just want some peace but still want to be near a major road. Bathrooms were really clean, lots of TP; got two bars on T-Mobile. Excellent place!
June 09 · Suzanne Barnesthis is my new stop now when I am in Happy Jack. The at Restroom at this Campground is always clean which is really nice. Now that is is cold up here this Campground is completely empty.
