The campground's location on Fairview Road provides good accessibility to major routes in the area. It is within a reasonable driving distance to larger towns and cities such as Lexington and Columbia, the state capital, which offer more extensive shopping, dining, medical facilities, and entertainment options. For those traveling through South Carolina, its central location makes it a practical stop when traversing the state. While it doesn't boast direct interstate access at its doorstep, the connectivity to nearby state highways allows for relatively easy navigation for RVs and other vehicles. Cedar Pond Campground focuses on providing fundamental services essential for RV and mobile home users. While it may lack extensive recreational amenities, its strength lies in offering reliable and necessary hookups and maintaining a clean environment. Based on customer reviews, here are the primary services offered:

- Overnight Stays: Caters to travelers needing a convenient and affordable stop for one night, offering a straightforward pull-over option.
- Long-Term/Permanent Sites: A significant portion (90% or more) of the campground consists of permanent residents, indicating its suitability for extended stays and providing a stable community environment.
- Restroom Facilities: A bathhouse with restrooms is available. While one initial review mentioned not using it, an updated review indicated that "bathrooms and laundry were always clean." This suggests functional and maintained facilities for guest use.
- Laundry Facilities: Available on-site, as mentioned in a review, providing a practical amenity for both transient and long-term campers.

Cedar Pond Campground, despite its self-described "zero amenities" approach for transient campers, possesses several key features and highlights that make it a valuable and recommended option, particularly for specific types of users in South Carolina:
- Predominantly Permanent/Long-Term Community: The fact that 90% or more of sites are occupied by permanent residents is a significant feature. This often leads to a quiet, stable, and respectful community environment where residents know and look out for one another. This stability is a huge draw for those seeking a long-term, peaceful place to live.
- Quiet and Respectful Environment: Multiple reviews emphasize the quietness of the campground and the respectful nature of its residents. This is a crucial highlight for anyone seeking a serene and undisturbed living or overnight experience.
- Cleanliness: Despite the initial lack of personal use, an updated review specifically praised the cleanliness of both the bathrooms and laundry facilities, indicating that the common areas are well-maintained.
- Affordable Pricing: The reasonable rates for full hookups ($35/night mentioned, and good monthly rates compared to competitors) make it an incredibly attractive option for budget-conscious travelers and long-term residents alike.
- Convenient Overnight Stop: Its design and pricing make it "perfect for us to pull over for the night" for travelers passing through, offering essential services without unnecessary cost or complexity.
- Full Hookups: The consistent availability of water, electric, and sewer at each site is a major convenience for RV owners, eliminating the need to search for dump stations or water sources.
- Good Location for Local Access: While rural, its Leesville location provides reasonable access to larger towns like Lexington and Columbia for shopping, dining, and services, offering a balance of peaceful living and urban accessibility.
- Owner Responsiveness (after initial interaction): While one initial review noted a rude first interaction, a subsequent update from a resident who stayed a month indicates that after the initial contact, the experience was positive, suggesting that the campground functions well for its residents.
For those interested in inquiring about availability, current rates, or specific policies at Cedar Pond Campground, direct contact is the most advisable method. Cedar Pond Campground Reviews
This campground has mostly perm sites. There are zero amenities. It worked perfect for us to pull over for the night, have water, electric and sewer for $35. Perfect stop for traveling through. I would not stay here for a weeks vacation. We did not use the bathhouse. We just slept and showered in our camper.
Jul 26, 2024 · G Ray**update** a friend of mine called and somehow magically there was a spot, it was too convenient to where I'm building not to take the spot anyway. 90% or better are permanent residents, I stayed a month and nobody moved in or out. Very quiet and respectful, bathrooms and laundry were always clean. I'm updating to 4 stars because after the initial interaction I didn't have any bad experience. I would recommend if you can get in, prices are very reasonable compared to others within 20 miles. ***I'm literally at the campground, we drove through to see what we thought first, it doesn't look bad and there are at least 15 open spots. ( it's November and this is a zero amenities campground) Went to the office and nobody is there, called number and you'd think I interrupted Thanksgiving dinner, Rude from the get go and told me he didn't have any spots. Only gave 2 stars because it was quiet and clean.
Jun 10, 2025 · Dan HarveyLove the serenity. Owner is very active and involved in the day to day operations of the park. Sites are clean. Definitely a "no frills" place but great for a week of winding down.
Apr 21, 2025 · Rella WhetzelHuge clean campground for you slide-out, gooseneck or RV. Quiet friendly neighbors with tons of open space to satisfy your country-living spirit. Did I mention the huge stocked pond, community bath house, laundry room, and golf carts galore. Fire up the grill, cast a line or two, and get ready to relax.
