Cayton Campground Reviews
Great campsite and "close" to Mountain Village and Telluride. There were a lot of flies from 10am until the daily rain shower. If you've used vault toilets before then these are the cleanest and best smelling. The camp host was friendly and accessible when needed. Site 11 was one of the best in the whole campground. It was close to the river so you could always hear water, but it was equally far from all the toilets so it was a short 1-2 min walk when you needed to go.
Aug 09, 2022 · Daniel BethkeVery clean, spacious campsites. Right next to the Forest. We were very far from the steam (river?) and from the road (still audible barely). Clean toilets, water spickets were nearby (sign said it was drinking water... little yellow for my tastes.. but great for hand washing. Amazing part of Colorado. Very glad it exists.Camp host sells firewood, didn't buy so unknown cost and quality.Overall really great. Not the best, but really really great.
Jun 03, 2018 · JordanNice CG but in a narrow canyon next to hwy #145 so some hwy noise. Two loops, loop A has 20 sites and is the electric water hookup loop for larger RVs and TTs. Loop B is has 7 sites with several FCFS and has no hookups. CG has vault toilets, dumpster, water spigots and an onsite CG host. Low price on loop B (non electric) would be $13 senior. Note that there is NO cell signal here at least for my TMobile phone.
Aug 09, 2022 · Greg D. LindStayed here in June of 2021. Really nice higher elevation campground with the Dolores river ruining right along side it. Very relaxing and beautiful spot to stay. The sites were spaced out pretty well and the views were great from any of the sites. Not too far a drive from Telluride.
Feb 13, 2022 · Emily GreenBasic campground. You can hear cars driving past on the highway, so it's not like you're completely secluded. Also wish there was a marked trail to the river. I had to walk back to the campground entrance to touch the water.
