4.0
We stayed for five days and were not impressed. The campsites are small and set on a noticeable downward slope, making it difficult to level our RV. I had to position my fifth wheel very carefully so the awning wouldn’t hit a tree and could cover the old, dry-rotted picnic table—which was chained to the ground and couldn’t be moved.Parking was another issue. Our truck didn’t fit properly in the site and had to be parked sideways, barely fitting within the space. The pool was cloudy every day of our stay and had black spots all over the walls. I'm an early riser and never once saw anyone maintaining it. Additionally, there was a strong garbage odor coming from the dumpsters, which became overwhelming at times depending on the wind direction. If you're planning your trip with the beach in mind, think again. While there is a public beach, the water is brown and doesn’t appear clean. On a more positive note, Apalachicola is about twenty miles west. It’s a small town with a few shops, breweries, and restaurants worth visiting. - Frank Melione
