Campground Reviews
A Friday in June at 3:30 PM and I am the only one in the campground. The sites are reserve only and of the 40+ sites only about 3 have reserved signs showing. The campground is nice. More open than I personally prefer, but ok spacing at many of the sites, some are fairly close together. There are lots of mature trees sounded by established lawn. The bathrooms have flush toilets and are clean. The infrastructure is older but in good condition. The campground sits on a hill overlooking the lake, but the lake view is mostly obscured by the forest.I drove around the park, it is bigger than I expected, with lots of picnic areas.None of the sites have hook ups, but there is a dump station near the office. All of the sites are fairly level with good drainage.Overall seems like a nice place. I have chosen a relatively wet and stormy weekend to come to a campground that is primarily tent focused, but still seems under utilized for as nice of a place as it is.The lake does have some areas where power boating is allowed, but there are better locations nearby for water skiing and such. I don't know but I would assume the lake is usually fairly quiet.Update noon Saturday.4 total sites occupied. 2 small campers and 2 tents.Spoke to the park rangers, they attribute the low volume to lack of electric sites (Seems likely). They report it can get pretty busy on major holiday weekends.I have heard the occasional boat moving fast in the lake, but they seem to just be going to their favorite fishing spot and parking.
Jun 07, 2025 · James JenkinsThis was just not for us. The bathrooms and everything were clean. Campsites were small and crammed next to each other. Very few trees even though our site was shaded, the trees were behind a fence, therefore not hammock friendly. Our campsite had our car (Honda Fit) and a medium sized tent and was cramped. Water was not accessible from campground, you needed to drive to it. Definitely worth a day trip if you like disc golf, boating and/or fishing.
