Camper's Paradise Office Introduce
Hello, fellow Minnesotans! Are you searching for a camping experience that truly lives up to its name? Imagine pitching your tent or parking your RV on a private island, surrounded by towering pines, crystal-clear waters, and the haunting calls of Minnesota's iconic loons. Welcome to Camper's Paradise, a one-of-a-kind campground nestled in Lake Belle Taine near Nevis, Minnesota. This is more than just a place to stay; it's a cherished tradition for many, a place where generations return year after year to create unforgettable memories. As one camper perfectly put it, "Simply put, this is by far the BEST camping!"
What makes Camper's Paradise so exceptional? It’s a unique blend of privacy, natural beauty, and thoughtful management. Located on a private, 55-acre island accessible by a narrow causeway and bridge, the campground was envisioned by its founders, Chris and Jean Swaggert, as a true escape from the everyday hustle. They focused on creating "large, secluded sites" that leverage the island's natural woodlands – towering pines, maples, and birches – to provide privacy, ensuring that "the trees provide privacy and you provide the fun." This intentional design prevents overcrowding, allowing each site to feel like a "gem." It's this commitment to a genuine, uncommercialized camping experience, combined with the "absolutely WONDERFUL people" who run it, that sets Camper's Paradise apart. It's a place where you can truly disconnect from the demands of daily life and reconnect with nature and loved ones.
The allure of Camper's Paradise isn't just in its unique island setting; it's in the deep sense of tradition and belonging it fosters. One camper proudly shared, "I am a third generation camper to this amazing island. 28 years and counting I am proud to be able to share this with my children. We count down how many days till we return every year." This kind of loyalty speaks volumes about the quality of the experience offered. Whether you dream of canoeing with loons, biking the scenic Heartland Trail, fishing in lily pads, swimming in pristine waters, or simply sharing stories around a crackling campfire, Camper's Paradise delivers. It's an island oasis that truly embodies the spirit of Minnesota's cherished outdoor lifestyle.
Camper's Paradise Office is located at Nevis, MN 56467, USA. More specifically, the campground itself is situated on a private, 55-acre island in Lake Belle Taine, with the physical address often listed as 19478 Edgewater Drive, Nevis, MN 56467. This prime location places it squarely in the heart of Minnesota's picturesque northern lake country, a region renowned for its pristine waters and abundant outdoor recreation.
The unique aspect of Camper's Paradise is its island setting. Access to the island is via a "narrow causeway and bridge," allowing campers to drive directly onto the island to reach their sites. This provides a sense of seclusion and privacy that is hard to find at other campgrounds. While on the island, campers can navigate "sandy roads," and a "fitness map with distances for all the Island's roads and trails" is available for those wishing to explore by foot or bike.
For those bringing watercraft, it's important to note that boats must be launched at the "Nevis public access where the DNR will perform an AIS inspection," emphasizing the commitment to preventing aquatic invasive species and maintaining the lake's "exceptionally clean and clear" water. Once launched, boats can be moored at the island's docks.
The campground's proximity to Nevis ensures convenient access to essential amenities. Nevis is described as "our" town, offering "restaurants, coffee shop, bars, candy shop, ice cream shop, and mini golf," as well as groceries, a liquor store, laundromat, gas, and bait. Additionally, the campground is strategically located near the "Heartland Trail," a 27-mile paved bike trail, and within a short drive of "Itasca State Park," the headwaters of the Mississippi River, offering extensive opportunities for day trips and exploration beyond the island.
Camper's Paradise is designed to provide a comfortable and engaging camping experience, blending rustic charm with thoughtful amenities.
Spacious, Secluded Campsites: The campground offers 80 wooded sites, approximately 75 feet apart, ensuring ample privacy. Each site is designed to accommodate a "family/camping unit" and includes an "electric pedestal with two 110s, one 30 amp and one 50 amp" outlet for convenience. While water hookups are not directly at sites, there is a "water-filling station on the main road just before the shower house" for tank fills.
Modern Central Bathrooms & Laundry: Unlike many rustic campgrounds, Camper's Paradise provides "modern central bathrooms/laundry" facilities, offering the comforts of home, including hot showers, washers, dryers, and folding counters.
Camping Cabins: For those seeking a bit more comfort, the campground also features "3 rustic log cabins" that can comfortably sleep a family of four. These cabins are in high demand and typically require weekly rentals during peak season.
Sugar-Sand Beaches: The island is ringed with "sugar-sand beaches," providing pristine areas for swimming and relaxation in the "crystal clear waters" of Lake Belle Taine.
Aqua Jump Water Trampoline: A fun feature for families, the "Aqua Jump water trampoline" adds an exciting element to the swimming area.
Recreational Facilities: The campground offers a variety of land-based activities including a "volleyball court, horseshoes, play structure, and ballfield," complete with a "baseball backstop, benches, and bases," suitable for pick-up games.
Boats & Equipment Rentals: To enhance lake exploration, the campground offers rentals of "boats, motors, pontoon, canoes, kayaks, and bikes." Gas, bait, and ice are also available for purchase.
The Lodge: A historic, rustic lodge provides a central gathering spot with amenities like "foosball and video games."
Firewood & Ice Sales: Firewood (following DNR regulations against bringing outside wood) and ice are conveniently available for purchase at the office.

Jun 14, 2018 · Kelsey KapschNice old fashioned camping. Spacious camp sites. Great staff.
Sep 01, 2019 · Laurie StarkGreat spot! We were very happy with our stay. Got a cabin by the lake for the weekend. Plenty of amenities. Boating was great. Fishing was great for others, but we didn't catch anything. Loud beeping from the office (freezer?) keep one of our party up the first night, but they took care of it. Very helpful staff too. Would definitely recommend and go again in the future. Thank you Camper's Paradise!
May 28, 2018 · TomWe just camped for 4 days at Camper's Paradise. I LOVED the clear water (lake was so nice), campsite was private with beach to swim on right on our site.
