I went here this summer and I enjoyed it alot. I've read some of the other reviews and they all seem negative. I honestly think it's a flip of a coin, I got great counsers, bunkmates, and all my friends came. But others have had pretty bad experiences. But I'll tell you about my pros and cons that I think are most important. I'll start with pros; pretty nice cabins (considering the fact there 4th-6th graders staying there), the little gift store thing my friend purchased 12 orange powerades and almost died 😁,nice counsers (they took song requests and got to blare twist 😼), some down time in between activities, okay lunch, talent show, and fun activities. Cons; the boys get a sidewalk and stairs while the girls get 2 huge hills that connect to ALL actives, 2 people got heatstroke (they're okay though), the juice bucket... God, the people working at the lake they wouldn't let us walk fast when the metal platform was making kids CRY from how hot it was, the swimming isn't swimming it's more like weird water aerobics, and the water (it tasted like buttole.) - amoungus Chambers

  • Scholarship Opportunities: The Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation, in collaboration with KDFWR Conservation Educators, grants scholarships to youth in need. This "Sponsor a Camper" program helps ensure that financial barriers do not prevent deserving children from attending conservation camp. Families seeking assistance should inquire about scholarship eligibility and the application process.

  • Inclusion of Hunter Education Certification: While not a "discount," the opportunity for campers to earn their Kentucky Hunter Education Certificate as part of the camp program is a substantial added value. This certification typically requires separate courses and fees, so its inclusion within the camp experience is a significant benefit.

  • All-Inclusive Fee Structure: The camp fee typically covers meals, lodging, instruction, and participation in all activities. This all-inclusive approach simplifies budgeting for families, as there are generally no hidden costs once the camp fee is paid (excluding personal spending money at a possible canteen).
