March 24 · Donna DotzlerMy daughter has attended camp here through Girl scouts twice now, she enjoyed herself both times. The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because of the most recent experience we had. I understand this may be more of a direct girl scout issue but it should still be known. I was late picking my daughter up due to unforeseen car issues and due to lack of cellphone reception, I could not notify or receive calls from camp. (They did call my husband's cell phone and he notified them that I had already left and should have been there already). I was 15 minutes late and upon arrival everyone treated me very poorly. Not only that but they separated my daughter from her luggage, which ended up being put on a bus heading to Phoenix (we live in Prescott Valley). When my daughter told me her luggage was on the bus I tried to have them stop the bus (which had not even left the main gate yet) and the counselor just shrugged at me and said, "oh well, I cannot stop them now, you will have to get your luggage in Phoenix". At that point I felt as though they deliberately did that just to make a point because they were upset I was 15 minutes late. I was eventually able to track down her luggage at Parsons in Phoenix and another counselor was able to bring it up with her when the next week's camp started however, one bag with all her bedding in it turned up missing. No one has since been able to find it. We won't be attending any girl scout camps in the future.
