Diverse Accommodation Types: Camp Laughing Grass offers a range of lodging options to suit different comfort levels, all within its unique cannabis-friendly environment (21+ only). These include:
- Tent Sites: Primitive tent sites, like the "Route 66 tent site," are located in wooded areas with plenty of tree coverage. Each site includes a picnic table, fire ring, and park-style grill. Note that tent sites do not have electricity.
- Glamping Tents: Luxurious canvas pyramid and dome-style tents (e.g., Candyland, Dark Star, Dream Queen Glamping) offer a more upscale camping experience. They come with comfy beds (queen or twin), linens, towels, soap, a small table and chairs, and a lounge area. Outside, each glamping site has a private picnic table, fire pit, and park-style grill. Electricity for glamping runs off a private generator. Pets are generally not allowed in glamping sites.
- Cabins: Modest A-frame cabins (e.g., Acapulco Gold, Blue Dream, Granddaddy Purple, Tangerine Dream, White Widow) provide a more structured lodging option. All cabins have comfy beds (full, twin, or queen), seating areas, electricity, and air-conditioning. They come with a large communal area with shared fire pit, grills, and picnic tables. Pets are generally not allowed in cabins, with the exception of the "Forbidden Fruit A-frame" upon receiving a non-refundable pet fee. Linens are not provided for cabins.
Cannabis-Friendly Environment: This is a core service. The campground is specifically designed to be "Cannabis Friendly," where consumption is not only allowed but encouraged in a respectful, adult setting. "Smoking apparatuses" are provided at glamping and cabin sites, and daily "420 gatherings" with donated products from local dispensaries are organized.
Bathhouses: Shared bathhouses with flush toilets and showers are available, typically located near the community pavilion, a short walk from tent and glamping sites, and accessible from cabins.
River Access and Water Activities: Located on the Crooked River, the camp provides access for canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, and floating. Complimentary kayaks, canoes, fishing gear, and floaties are available for guest use.
On-Site Convenience: Snacks and smoking apparel are provided in glamping tents and cabins. A "Cooler Package" (90-quart Igloo cooler with ice) and "Camp Laughing Grass Swag Package" (logoed smoking apparatuses & merchandise) are available for purchase.
Community Pavilion: A covered pavilion serves as a central hub for social interaction, communal meals (continental breakfast often served), and craft projects.
Outdoor Games: Various outdoor games such as Cornhole, Yardzee, and Horseshoes are available for guest use.
Hiking & Biking Trails: Trails run throughout the private 17-acre forest for exploration.
Pet-Friendly (Tent Sites Only, with conditions): While pets are welcome in the campground, they are generally not allowed inside cabins or glamping sites (with one specific cabin exception). Pet owners must register their pet, provide a rabies certificate, and adhere to strict leash rules, ensuring pets are always supervised.
Maine's Premier Cannabis-Friendly Campground (21+): This is the defining feature. Camp Laughing Grass offers a unique, adult-only environment where responsible cannabis consumption is openly welcomed and encouraged. This creates a specific, judgment-free atmosphere for "like minded ppl" that is hard to find elsewhere.
Unique Social Atmosphere and Community: The campground actively fosters a "chill" and "super friendly" atmosphere. With daily "420 gatherings," a communal pavilion, and a focus on creating a sense of belonging, it's designed for campers to socialize, make "Friends and Fun," and build "lifelong memories."
Beautiful Riverfront Setting on Crooked River: Tucked into a private 17-acre forest bordered by scenic wetlands, the campground boasts direct access to the slow-moving and shallow Crooked River. This provides a picturesque backdrop and easy access for kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, and floating, with complimentary equipment provided.
Diverse Accommodations with Thoughtful Touches: From primitive tent sites for true nature immersion to luxurious glamping tents with comfy beds and even A-frame cabins with electricity and AC, Camp Laughing Grass caters to various comfort levels. Glamping and cabins even come with "Smoking Apparatuses Provided at Site," adding to the themed experience.
Dedicated to Relaxation and Escape: The overall "vibe" is one of relaxation and escape. It's a place to "Breathe and enjoy," providing a significant "change of pace" from everyday life. This focus on unwinding is a key draw for many visitors.

Emphasis on "Experience": Reviews highlight the "experience we will never forget," indicating that the campground aims to provide more than just a place to stay, but a truly immersive and memorable adventure.
Trails for Exploration: With trails throughout the 17-acre property and scenic wetlands, there are opportunities for hiking and biking, allowing guests to explore the natural surroundings.
Based on the available information, Camp Laughing Grass appears to structure its pricing and value proposition around its unique cannabis-friendly experience and comprehensive amenities rather than traditional discount-based promotions. However, there are some established offers and value points for prospective campers:
Automatic Discounts for Longer Stays: The campground offers "Automatic Discounts for 4 & 7 night stays." This is a significant value proposition for those planning a more extended escape, encouraging longer visits and rewarding guests for their commitment.
Included Amenities & Activities: A core "offer" is the inclusion of numerous activities and amenities within the booking price. This includes complimentary access to kayaks, canoes, fishing gear, and floaties for river use, as well as outdoor games like Cornhole, Yardzee, and Horseshoes. Access to the community pavilion and its indoor games is also part of the experience.
Themed Packages for Convenience: While not a discount on the stay itself, the availability of specialized packages like the "Cooler Package" ($45 for a 90-quart Igloo cooler filled with ice) and the "Camp Laughing Grass Swag Package" ($125 for logoed smoking apparatuses & merchandise, including a limited edition T-shirt) offers convenience and enhances the themed experience for guests.
Daily "420 Gatherings" with Donated Products: The community hosts daily gatherings where "donated products from local dispensaries" are introduced. This provides a unique social opportunity and a chance to sample different strains, adding significant value for cannabis enthusiasts.
Value of a Niche Experience: For its target audience, the very existence of a dedicated "Cannabis Friendly retreat" is a "special offer" in itself. The ability to consume cannabis freely and responsibly in a social setting, without stigma, is a major draw that often outweighs simple monetary discounts found at conventional campgrounds.
It is important to note that all sites have a two (2) night minimum stay. To learn about the most current pricing, specific booking requirements, and any unadvertised specials, it is always recommended to check their official website's booking portal or contact the campground directly.

May 27, 2025 · allison pReally upset! 5 stars because it’s not their fault. We really wanted to stay here SO BAD but we have two dogs and our dog needs insulin refrigeration. The tent sites have no electricity so we looked at the cabins, but dogs aren’t allowed. Then we were going to do the glamping for $149 a night but you have to stay for two nights and we are traveling to see family from out of state so that doesn’t work either. Guess it’s not meant for us.
May 29, 2025 · Michelle NickersonMy wife surprised me with the trip and I wish I could give higher than 5 stars! Friendly people & all the good vibes whether you partake or not. Definitely planning another trip
Jun 02, 2025 · sol7055My first time experiencing Camp Laughing Grass. I just returned home from a 3 day, 2 night stay. I stayed in the Acapulco Gold cabin. It was truly a wonderful time. I went by myself, but am already planning my trip for next year with friends! If you are 420 friendly, and just want to be around good vibes and good people, this is DEFINITELY the spot for you! Trinity and the rest of the staff are top notch!
Aug 22, 2024 · Ali JulianoI'm returning from a three day visit at this amazing camp! Completely inclusive of all ages, races, sexual preferences and/or identities. Several guests didn't even partake in Laughing Grass but came for the vibe! Super clean cabins. We were in Blue Dream and hope to get the same one next year. Comfortable beds. We didn't need the AC but it was nice to know it was there if needed. The community bathrooms were surprisingly clean! I went at 11:30 at night completely expecting a mess but none was to be found! It 100% is the up to the guests you know. Be responsible for yourself - your mother doesn't work there. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The sponsors offered great specials,! Will definitely be using the delivery service next visit!! Keep up the good work! High roads and high fives!!!
