Camp Hale is conveniently situated at 9315 Wilderness Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 80913, USA. This location places it just outside Gate 6 of Fort Carson, making it easily accessible from Colorado Springs and the surrounding areas. To reach the campground from I-25, you'll take CO-115 South, then make a left onto Wilderness Road outside of Gate 6, which leads directly to the campground, identifiable by its proximity to a water tower.
The accessibility of Camp Hale is one of its notable advantages. Its direct road access means that getting there, whether you're in an RV or a car, is generally straightforward. The address is well-recognized by GPS systems, and the on-site signage helps guide visitors to the check-in and reservation center. While the roads within the campground are well-maintained, especially for RV sites, it's worth noting, as one local review highlighted, that some of the tent site access roads may be a bit rough. Camp Hale Reviews
Quietest and cleanest campground ever! We had such a great stay at Camp Hale. We decided to extend our stay and had to move sites, but both spots were equally beautiful. Lots of space. Hookups worked beautifully. The staff was friendly and helpful. We didn’t stay in a cabin, but they looked really nice from the outside. I utilized the laundry facility and the bathrooms. Both were clean and well equipped. I included photos from both sites.
Jun 18, 2025 · Pam HowardWe got a great price on a tent site. It was private and shady, with a picnic table and fire ring with grate. But be aware, the tent sites were still awaiting updates (as of June 2025). The tent pad was too small for our large tent (there was an acceptable spot to the side), and the drive in to the site from the campground road was pretty rough. Most notably, the pit toilet was unusable, so we had to drive up to the welcome center to use the restrooms. But those restrooms were very nice and had showers, so I am sure whenever they are able to update the tent sites, they will be nicer as well.
