Camp Comia, with its unique status as a non-profit retreat facility that also offers camping, provides a distinct set of services designed to make visitors feel comfortable and cared for. It's not a standard commercial campground, but rather a place that prioritizes a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Camping Spots Available: While not a typical campground in appearance, Camp Comia does offer designated camping spots for those looking to pitch a tent.
- Shower Accommodations: A significant convenience highlighted by visitors is the availability of "shower accommodations," which are often a welcomed amenity in non-traditional camping settings.
- Hospitality and Welcome: Reviewers consistently praise the "very nice and hospitable people" who manage the camp, emphasizing how "welcomed" they felt during their stay. This level of customer service is a core offering.
- Non-Profit Operations: As a non-profit, Camp Comia primarily focuses on helping kids and offering youth and adult retreat programs. While camping may be a side offering, the overarching mission contributes to the positive and supportive atmosphere.
- Lodging Options: Beyond basic camping, Camp Comia also offers more structured lodging options, including "comfortable houses and dormitories," catering to groups of various sizes, though these are likely separate from the basic camping spots.
- Recreational Facilities: The facility may offer recreational amenities such as volleyball or basketball courts, and potentially a pool, designed to foster camaraderie and connection during group retreats.
- Event and Program Hosting: Camp Comia provides facilities and services for hosting youth group retreats, team-building workshops, wellness and yoga retreats, educational workshops, and other event planning services.
Camp Comia offers a range of unique features and highlights that set it apart from conventional campgrounds, reflecting its primary mission as a non-profit retreat and recreational facility.
- Community and Hospitality Focus: The most significant highlight is the incredibly warm and "hospitable people" who run Camp Comia. Visitors consistently mention feeling "very welcomed," which creates a positive and supportive atmosphere not always found in standard campgrounds.
- Unique Non-Profit Mission: Its operation as a non-profit organization "that helps kids" and serves as a "premier youth and adult retreat facility" gives it a distinct character and purpose, appealing to those who appreciate supporting such initiatives.
- Access to Shower Facilities: The availability of "shower accommodations" is a practical and highly valued feature, especially for campers who appreciate comfort during their outdoor stay.
- Not a "Typical Campground" Appearance: As noted by a reviewer, it "doesn't look like a camp ground," which can be a unique appeal for those looking for something different from traditional rows of RVs or tents. This might imply a more natural integration into the landscape or a focus on other facilities.
- Privacy and Potential Seclusion: While some reviews suggest it's not a traditional public campground, the possibility of "pitching a tent" and the mention of "camping spots available" within a non-profit retreat imply a degree of privacy or a more structured, yet welcoming, environment.
- Quiet Atmosphere: Although not explicitly stated, facilities geared towards retreats and educational programs often prioritize a tranquil environment conducive to learning and reflection.
- Versatile Use: Beyond individual camping, the facility's design for "groups of all sizes" and various programs (wellness, team-building, outdoor adventure) suggests a versatile space that can cater to different needs.

Not your typical campground however they do have camping spots available and it doesn't look like a camp ground since it's apparently also a non profit that helps kids. Very nice and hospitable people that also had shower accommodations. They made me feel very welcomed. Thank you!
